Which one vibrates less: Wilson Blade CV or V7?

I currently play with an AeroPro Drive (2005 model) and I really dislike how it vibrates a lot. I really like a dampened, muted feel. I’d use 8 dampeners in my racquet if I could. Because of this I had decided that I’d switch to a Wilson Blade 98 16x19 CV.

But now, the new Blade is out (v7) and I’m really in doubt of which one to buy.

So, for those who have tested both, in your opinion which one vibrates less?

PS1: I live in Brazil, we can’t demo racquets in here.
PS2: please avoid posts like “you should test racquet X or racquet Y”, for me it’s only about these two.

Tennis warehouse has a vibration frequency tool. Google it. You will see the v7 blade is in the low 130s. CV blade 140s. Babolats usually in the 150s. Enjoy!

I know, but sometimes it feels different. I always read people talking about how muted and dampened the CV Blade is, but I don't know how it compares to te V7.

My personal opinion....I have both in 18x20. I have used the CV version extensively in the past. To me, the CV version feels "muted". In other words, I can't really feel much of what is going on. The V7 has a lot more "feedback" and "feel". I realize that the CV version is stiffer, but something it makes it feel very muted in the feeling department.

Now whether that translates to vibration, I don't know how you would interpret it.

I tested both and preffer the v7 version, out of the 2
I tend to lean towards the less stiff, more confort options
having said that, I gave these two racquets to a long time blade user,, he tested them and told me he preffers the cv version over the v7,, all due to "feel",,

Well said and this has been my experience with both the CV and the new V7. I have owned both and prefer the V7 by far for the balance between feel and dampening.

With vibration I mean the feel of it. I don't care if the racquet actually vibrates a lot, as long as I don't feel it.

With "feel" you mean feeling the ball hitting racquet? (= the racquet vibrating?)

You felt that the CV is more dampened? If yes, do you think that the V7 is also dampened comparing to, let's say, Babolat Pure Aero?

For me, yes I felt the CV dampening. It was a bit too much for my liking. I haven’t hit a Babolat in a fee years so not sure of how it would compare. All I can day is, the V7 is worth seeing if you can demo somewhere. Not sure how much dampening you are really looking for. I used a large bar dampener on my 2015 Blade.

The CV feels completely muted and dampened. I'll explain it like this.....if a tennis racquet could be wearing two condoms, the CV would be it. I can't feel ANY feedback with that frame. Like nothing comes through. The V7 in comparison feels like you took the condoms off, and suddenly WOAH you FEEL the ball. You feel what is going on now.

Vibration and stiffness are not what I am using to describe how these two feel. Because I think they are coming through in very different ways independent of those two descriptors.....

When I simply bounce a ball on the CV, I don't even feel the damn ball. When I bounce it on the V7, I feel something coming through the handle into my hands. It's not unpleasant, and it's not shocking. It's simply feedback and feeling. I hated the CV because I could barely even tell when I hit the ball.

They actually tend to have higher vibration frequency, so in that sense they vibrate more.

a lot of confusion in this thread about vibration, flex, and feel. Vibration isnt necessarily bad, stiff rackets aren't always harmful, and feel is completely subjective.

If i had to guess, i'd say OP is wanting a racket that removes the jarring feel from his babolat on mishits (basically more flexy and less hollow), but the way he worded it makes it sound like he wants the most disconnected racket available in terms of feel, in which case the blade cv 16x19 is a great choice.

Where are you from? There are a few shops here in São Paulo and a few back in my hometown (Brasília) which do (-:

The real factor is the amplitude of the vibration, not the frequency. Stiffer racquets deform less and therefore the amplitude of vibration is weaker
Therefore the oscillations dampen faster. There is no proof that tennis elbow is linked to vibrations; however it might be due to holding the racquet too firmly

Do you have friends or opponents you play with that has the Blade 98 CV? If so, perhaps you can ask to borrow from them to have a hit and see if you like the feeling?

this sentence says it all for me!! 100% agree
as i said in my post above, some people like the feel of the v7 (like me), and some like the CV feel!!

one of the most futile attemps, is asking people to descrive "feel", pointless!!
