Who can stop Novak this year? Nick Kyrgios.

I can't speak out the name now,but I know this guy who will stop Djokovic is must be a powerful player with punishing forehand and killer serve.

No one.. Krygios is a mental dud. He can't keep it together mentally to take down Nole

The only one stopping Nole is himself. (Be it burn out or Injury) I still got Nole penciled in to win the calendar slam this year. Unless he over schedules stupidly

What really sets Nick apart from his peers at this stage is his serve... it was so huge this week, unbreakable on serve.

Krygios is the only type of player that can stop the joker. Lots of weapons and not afraid to play huge, likes the spotlight and plays better the bigger the match. Plus he's cocky and believes he can win which is big.

Definitely hoping he can stop the ****** and his evil plan of turning the tour into a mind numbing, depressing vortex of tedium.

You're joking right?
Kyrgios struggles and his whole game cracks whenever he meets Murray who is basically a weaker version of Novak in every sense now...

Djokovic is a far better returner as well. I think it would be a nightmare match up for Kyrgios who mentally explodes a lot.
Novak on the ground would be far too consistent for him to handle.
Traditionally big hitters do horrible against Novak.. Del Potro, Berdych, Raonic, Cilic, Soderling, Tsonga(who is the best on this list)... All these guys can't handle him.

Kyrgios needs to be as consistent as Wawrinka was off the ground to even have a remote chance of beating him. Power doesn't matter if you can't get your shots in..

Theres also Novak's godly aura everytime he steps on court now and his opponents feel like they've lost the match before they even started. Everyone is scared of him now. I don't know how Nick would deal with that

Agreed 100%....Djokovic is such a bore. In combination with a weak era, tennis right now is unbelievably depressing that even Gilles Simon would fall asleep watching Djokovic.

I think Djokovic's game drives someone up the wall like Krygios up the wall, but he'll breakthrough eventually.

Give me a break. He's ranked #32 and just beat a couple of old declined scrubs.

Roddick ended the year ranked #14 with deeper competition just after turning 19. Before his 20th birthday, he made his first masters final. At Nick's exact age, he swept the North American hard court season.

Nick is a broke man's Roddick and that is being generous. He isn't going to amount to ****, let alone stop one of the most dominant players in tennis history.

Definitely agree although the "draw gods" seem to be keeping Kyrgios far away from Djokovic. He's on the other side of the draw in Dubai..

right now he's a poor man's Roddick lol...don't even compare him to Sampras. His ceiling is a 03-04 Roddick.

Good post. Hadn't even read this comment. But you are still overestimating Nick or underestimating Roddick. Serve bots and pushers peak early. I don't see how much more Nick can raise his game. Just improve his consistency I guess.

If not this year, it will be 2017, that is if he gets his act together, which seems like he is after this last week.

I think he will do some damage on the fast courts. Beating Nole is a stretch but its quite possible to make his first slam semi final. I like his chances on a fast court against anybody below top 4.

As an Aussie I'd like Kyrgios to make it happen, but I cannot stand the bogan. Now, if they were to meet all Djokovic needs to do is quietly say to him while walking pass him;

Djokovic: Hey!
Kyrgios: What?
Djokovic: (keeps on walkin')
Kyrgios: I said what!
Djokovic: (having his drink)
Kyrgios: WTF?
Kyrgios: (talking to the umpire) - Hey mate, did you just see this $hite?
Kyrgios: I am sorry to tell you but you are an idiot, mate (to the umpire as the umpire is not aware of what is going on)
Kyrgios: (breaks his racquet and repeats himself) I said WHAT!
Djokovic: (gets up and starts positioning his water bottle in the same manner as Nadal)
Kyrgios: (throws a tantrum by saying) WHAAAAT!
Djokovic: (starts picking his arse in the same manner as Nadal while leaving his bench and casually starts walking towards his side of the court)
Kyrgios; (breaks his second racquet and suddenly says) - what the f....am I doing here? Where is Bernie?
Bernie: (on the mobile phone) Mate, I am cruising in my Ferrari in Florida, come over here!
Djokovic: (starts bouncing the ball) 1,2,3,4.......45th time!
Kyrgios: That's it mate, sorry to tell ya all but that's it!

(walks away showing everyone his proud finger)

I know you probably think I'm just a Murray fanboy but I really and truly believe he still has more chances at Wimbledon than Raonic does. Murray has only 'stagnated' somewhat against Djokovic and Federer. Against the rest of the field, including Raonic, he is still clutch. Moreover, Raonic is the one with chronic fitness problems who hasn't been able to play since the AO so what makes you so sure he will be fit enough again to take Wimbledon by storm? For all these reasons, I still firmly believe that Murray has a better chance of making the Wimbledon (or any other Slam) final than Raonic does.
He has to regain his 2012,2013 wimbledon form.

Kyrgios will be a force, if he get's 2 things in order.

1) return of serve
2) mental strength

And yes, he can pose a threat to Djokovic. He has shown that he is not afraid of the top 3.

you're all delusional.
these 250 finals are a few big steps behind facing a full throttled Novak.
he'll quickly make Kyrgy an UEs machine.
only way an upset can happen is Novak not himself, tired, wounded etc.
so --- no.

Raonic? When did he last take it to Djokovic? The only players to take it to Djokovic in the last 12 months have been Federer, Murray, Gulbis, Dolgopolov and Anderson except that the last 3 choked on the brink of beating him. Kyrgios has yet to meet Djokovic so we look forward to him joining that select little group!

@Mainad Don't forget about Goffin...

I still haven't quite lost all belief on Rafa. At least not on clay. Anywhere else, however, I don't know if anyone can stop him atm. But Kyrgios sure is an exciting prospect, though!! My hate for him is fading.

Djokovic is so far ahead of the field it's a joke.

Kyrgios does look like the only one with a realistic chance to match him.

I'm not talking about an occasional win over Novak but a 50-50 chance of beating him.

I see Nick possibly being number 2 in the world by the end of the year.

Certainly by the end of 2017.

Kyrgios isn't going to be No. 2 by the end of the year, come on now.

I think he could crack the top 20 though. His rise will be slower and steadier -- like Federer's was.
