Why do all pros seem to use white overgrips (besides tourna)?

i use yonex supergrap, and have tried many colors. personally i still like the feel of the black ones.

Something that is apparently very common here...
I don't know if it is because of dye, but I tried a couple of different colors of both SuperGrap and the Wilson as well as Tournagrip and a couple of others. In the end, I like white SuperGrap the best, so that's what I use.

Except that Wilson Pro and Supergrap (and Gamma Supreme) feel nothing like Tournagrip. So in that sense, they are the garbage while Tourna is the best.
I've been looking for a more durable alternative to Tournagrip and haven't found one yet. But I'm gonna try Yonex Drygrap and Volkl V-Dry.

Yeah if you're looking for that Tourna feel there isn't anything else like it I think. Wilson pro and yonex super are totally different. I like the tacky feel of Wilson pro. Dont care for the feel of Tourna but to each their own.

I've been using white Wilson Pro for years. Every once in a while I get the desire to go with black for a slick all black look. Every time I've gone to the black Wilson Pro I'm changing it the next day scrambling for the white. The white seems to have a little more tack, seems to have better feel and feels crisper/thinner. The black seems OK at first gripping, but as you start playing with it, it just seems blocky and almost too cushy. It looks the same, smells the same, but just ain't.
A buddy who borrows overgrips from me all the time, gave me a 3 pack of Wilson Pro Neon Green. It seemed closer to the White but still not as well of a fit to the racquet.
The rational person in me says it has to be in my head, but once I put on a white grip--I feel I hit clearner, it feels cleaner and my grip is in place better more often. On the black I felt my grip was getting to western and I have no idea why.

I know that and I'm (almost) always use white overgrips. But now, I search for the sources of this theory and I can not find anything.
Also no one above have mentioned that "we have to better use white overgrips because in that color we understand the wear of it, easily as it's getting and looks dirty".

I like TournaTac, but don't like regular Tourna. The Tac version is very good after one or two times, when some of the tack wears off.
tou can see when they’re dirty and need changing.

It's been discussed before, even in this thread, that less dye = more tack, with white having the least - or some claim no - dye.

Among all the valid reasons stated so far, one thing not yet mentioned—
The bulk OG spools are almost always in white. Ergo, I suspect that's what the tournament stringers keep on hand / are provided by the mfgr reps. When you are burning thru dozens of re-grips a day, fooling with 3-packs is just time—and someone's money—wasted .

Tourna Mega Tac is as tacky in Black as it is White. True story. But to answer the question, i think the white grips are used due to the Fed Factor. Fed for a long time was the GOAT. People wanna look like the GOAT. There was the Sampras effect for a long time too - previous GOAT. People wanted to be like that GOAT. People STILL want to be like that GOAT based on all the Blue Tourna I see out there. Question is will the white fad fade when the current GOATS go to pasture.

Everytime I watch pro TV I still look to see if any new players would dare using a black or different color grip... still no luck

I generally go with a black grip to match the racquet colors better. If the white grip felt better than the black, I'd use it, but I couldn't tell the difference when I had one of each on my racquets. I guess pros are more sensative to these things, not surprising. I don't care about seeing the dirt, I'll replace it when I feel like it needs it. I don't need a visual reminder.
