Why so few thin beamed racquets?

I love thin beams...under 21mms is ideal for me, which is why I love the Tfight 335.

Unfortunately, it seems Tecnifibre is widening their beams on the new models I am seeing so far. Obviously I will try and buy a few more 2007 335s and that will cover me, but why don't companies make many thin beams anymore? The level of control and feel is superior IMO.

Are there any brands making thin beamed racquets still?

Bring back the Hammer 5.5 Spin, but with 85 sqin and some decent weight.

I just feel like I know when I see a classic frame that could be remade every year. For example, the 335 IMO is a classic frame, and for some reason they discontinued it. The Head Graphite Master is another one that is long gone.

I love the midplus racquets, but when the beam is too wide, the feel and control is just not there for me. I don't even care about having the small heads, but i hate those 22+ beams. I started playing when the tech was all about oversize and widebodies in the 90s, and I hated it. My game sucked with my Prince 110. I went to a Prince Pro 90, then the Head and it made a huge difference.

Fast forward to now, where I have demod the AG 300/200, the Yonex RDS 003 and 001, and my shots were all over the place. I get the 335, and it is like I never stopped playing tennis, my shots are going right where I want and the sweet spot feels like sex.

Are you referring to Mp+ or Mid's?

Yonex (RDS Series) , Wilson( K90, KBlade) , Dunlop (AG200, AG100) , Prince (O-Zone Pro tour) and Volkl (DNX10)

I prefer Midplus.

Good to see Head is still delivering there.

I guess the main point of the thread is me wondering if, say in 3 years..they will make more thin beams or even less.

For me, thin-beamed racquets offer great touch and feel for the ball. And, as importantly, I find they cut through the air noticeably easier than widebodies -- I like that, especially at net and hitting slice 1hbhs.

I prefer 20mm or less.

I feel the same way about thin frames. The AG200 (and 100), the Prince Diablo (and o3 Tour series), Head Prestige, Vokl C10, Wilson K90, and more all have thin beams. I love the thin beamed racquets, as I agree, they do tend to swing noticeably faster. I used to use a thicker frame, but once I realized how much nicer a thin beamed frame felt, I haven't looked back. It's a shame they're becoming increasingly harder to find.

Oh yes that racquet is so sweet. I used that racquet the other day & its so easy to generate spin & the slice is unbelievable! I was going to make the 5.5 my primary stick but those racquets are hard to find in any condition.

Nice to see I am not the only one with the small beam affinity.

Sometimes I walk into a tennis shop and feel very alone..lol.
