Obviously he's not worth as much as he used to, but I think the other Big 4 members having made succesful comebacks would actually increase Murray's relevance as well. Especially considering young players are as useless as ever.
Based on his previous accomplishments alone he’s going to remain marketable in Great Britain. But globally he’s probably at the least marketable point of his career at least since he originally signed with Fred Perry. That’s why I think a British designer company like Ted Baker or a return to Fred Perry makes the most sense.
Can't see Muzz in anything Adidas have churned out lately. But the Hibs inspired RG 2017 kit would have worked for him. Also haven't they stopped producing the Barricade he liked?
What are the chances of Fred Perry? Kind of like the idea of that.
Or does UA renew for less $$ and less time? They've been utterly clueless on what to do with him market wise though. Can't buy his kit for the most part, can't buy certain things in the UK, etc etc.
Any rumours circulating?
As Brinke said all reports are that Under Armour is done with the sport. They even stopped putting his logo on his shirts around the US Open which would say to me it’s pretty official.
There aren’t any rumors that I have heard outside of people kicking around ideas of what company would fit and which wouldn’t. It’s still pretty early, I wouldn’t expect any well sourced rumors until late next month. You would think Fred Perry would make a play for Andy but who knows, last I checked it had been some time since Fred Perry even produced a tennis line to the general public. It appears Tennis Warehouse doesn’t even have them listed anymore which makes me think they have no future plans to do so which is unfortunate because I always found the Fred Perry line to be second to none in regard to style and quality.
The shoe question is an interesting one. If he were to sign with a company like Adidas, New Balance, or Asics that would assuredly want him wearing their shoes even if they had to do what Under Armour did and reverse engineer the old Barricades which obviously wouldn’t be a problem for Adidas. But if he were to sign with a company that doesn’t manufacture tennis shoes, like Federer-Djokovic but not having their marketability, I wonder if he’d just continue to pay Under Armour to manufacture his current shoes.
