Wilson nTour Two or Yonex RDS003...opinions?

Recently did the 'Blacked Out Wilsons' playtest for Tennis-Warehouse in which they sent me what appeared to be a newer (and larger headed) version of the KFactor KTour.

I've only used an extended racquet for an extended period of time once before: Yonex Nano-Speed RQ-7. Solid feel, deadly spin, better than I'm accustomed to pop.

Anyway, I really liked the racquet they sent me for playtesting so I'm thinking about trying to use a longbody again...this time a 27.25" instead of a 27.5" like the Yonex mentioned above.

Obviously I want it to be between 10.6 and 11.2 ounces, more flexy than say 66, better than average spin, decent pop, and most importantly cheap (in case it eventually ends up on my 'Tennis Racquet Wall').

So I figure that leaves me with two models to choose from:
A) Wilson nTour Two nCode
B) Yonex RDS003

I've read the two reviews and many of the comments left by players on each racquets page, but would like to hear any and all input you have to give on either (or both) of the racquets.

Most of what I've read says that the Yonex is probably the better of the two racquets but that Wilson I used during the 'Blacked Out Wilson Playtest' sure felt pretty sweet.

Thanks for any input you can give.

I had love/hate affair with the nTours. Come to think of it, the nTour Two is slightly head heavy. You really need to generate your own power for it because the swingweight is deceptively high for it's weight. Hitting the sweetspot is good, but not that forgiving off-center. Moderate topspin with it and probably better-suited for aggressive baseline play.

Haven't played with any Yonex racquets yet.

RDS003 is a nice control stick. IMO, I would pick the RDS003 over the Ntour two but I may be biased since my main racquet is the RDS003.

I have customized with about 6g at 10/2, not a huge change but it feels nice for me. Of course, the ntour two would probably have more customization options given that Yonex doesn't have the trapdoor option like Wilson does.

Without having either in hand, there are some pros and cons with each.

nTour Two:
Of the two it's the most similar to the 'Black' Wilson I playtested a couple weeks ago...
- same width
- same company
- close to same weightsame weight
- closer to balance [it's 1 HL, playtest was 3 HH; Yonex is 6 HL]

Yonex:
- more headlight (I'm a baseliner)
- lower swingweight
- same headsize (I think) of the 'black' Wilson I playtested
- according to 'power level' it's more powerful

One thing I worry about, even with the 315 swingweight, is the fact that the Yonex is basically the same weight as the racquet I'm using and it's 1/4" longer...may feel a little slower around the court (even though the Wilson has a higher swingweight---half an ounce is still a half an ounce).

Thanks for the input so far.

That 1/4 inch doesn't do much at all. Really in truth, that 1/4" is so miniscule that it won't change your playability at all. Don't be afraid of the Yonex, it swings so comfortably.

Measure this text and it will be approximately be about 1/4" inch:

I recently tested the Yonex because the specs were close to my range, and I felt the NTour 2 was far superior. I currently play with the NTour 2, due to it's soft feel off the strings and the slightly HL balance. Also, of all of the 95 Tour racquet range, the NTour 2 has the lowest SW - probably due to the balance. It is light (around 11 oz strung), but only about 2 pts HL, so the heft through the ball is amazing. It is dampened a bit off of the strings, which I personally like.

I found it far superior to the Yonex, which felt very stiff and Pure Drive like. they are different racquets, be very sure. the length has very little to do with it, but I also enjoy the little bit of leverage on my serve with the slight extra length. And it does not hinder my 1HBH in the least.

Great feel, very manuverable and the 95 inch head gives great control.

If Wilson could manage to make 3-4 of them the same weight, I would be good to go. Get TW to match them, because they will not come out similar if you don't.

PS. My black out TW playtest was the BLX Pr Open. It was also very nice to hit with. A similar feel, but more HL and spin friendly. I found it lacking in heft through the ball though, probably due to the more HL balance.

I agree with a lot of what you say in terms of the sweetspot and swing weight. However I think the power level is pretty good.

I have a friend that hits really well with his nTour.

I have trouble getting into a groove with it. Every time I hit with it it makes a scary cracking sound that makes me think the frame is going to break. It's probably bc I'm mishitting a lot.

I should be able to tell after tomorrow night...a buddy of mine is letting me borrow his nTour Two. I appreciate all the comments.

Thanks for all your input...a buddy of mine is letting me borrow his nTour 2 tomorrow night...looking forward to seeing how it compares to the blacked-out Wilson I got to playtest (the BLX Tour I guess it's called) I did a couple weeks ago with the newest version of the 'Tour' racquets.

Thanks for the input.

After hitting with a buddy of mine's nTour Two and again with my T-7, I'm sticking with the T-7...seriously an awesome racquet.
