It might be that they want the top seeds to play atleast one match on Court 1.

They did it last year too. Pretty sure everyone had a day on court 1 - Murray certainly did.

Wimbledon has done this for a few years, spreading the top guys matches a little more between centre and No. 1, much like Roland Garros. Centre gets Nole, No. 1 gets Fed. Everyone's happy, kinda.
