Does Li Na even have a hope in this one? I would rather Li Na win but really Clijsters in 2. Even a 3 setter would be a minor shock.

They're similar but Kim is the much better player more powerful and more consistent and looked far more solid in her semi against Zvon. Li was choking but still pulled out. Dun know how much was to do with Woz since I didn't watch after she went 5-4 down.

Lets see if Li can use the national pressure to propel her instead of crush her...

Clijsters in 2.

The last time they met in Sydney, Kim choked in the 1st set and eventually lost the match. This time it ain't going to happened.

they both have very sweet personality. I am happy for them make it to the final but IF
Na Li win. It will be the first Chinese win a slam. so go Li!!

Clijster will probably win in 2.

I think Clijsters in two. She usually plays good-great in slam finals and Na Li more often than not succumbs to pressure.

But we'll see, I'd like Na Li to step it up. She definitely has the weapons.

btw, Li is right to attack the net. But she needs to work on her overhead badly. cannot have such an obvious weakness at that level

If there ever was a sure thing in tennis ,,,this is it. Kim to win her 1st Aussie open title.
1. Kim is playing great-- evidenced by semifinal match
2. Li will be nervous as heck and make errors + will not handle the big serve of Clijsters. Which Woz did not have such a weapon.

Of note,,,,my heart wants Li to win this since it will be her 1st slam. Spread the wealth,,i say. But it will NOT happen.

She doesn't have a big serve, just a crafty one with the placement.

I am rooting for Li Na because she looks like a good-spirited, hard-working little girl. I only get positive emotions when I look at her playing (and I am not into Asian women in general).

I picked kim to win the entire thing weeks ago, and despite Li Na making a convincing show of her skills by smacking the talentless Wozniacki around, I still pick Kim to win.

It's not hard to pick Clijsters. She has better movement, she has much more experience in Slam finals and a better rounded game even though at first glance it looks like they play pretty much the same.

But, I give Li Na a chance. She's beaten Clijsters before a couple of times and had some close losses. And, even though she's gotten better, Clijsters still goes through lapses where her play drops and she makes errors. These periods seemingly come out of nowhere.

I'm hoping that absent minded Kim shows up and Li Na wins just for a change of scene.

I honestly don't know. Li did just beat Kim in straight in Sydney, which could be helpful knowing that she can beat her in a final. But the way she played against Woz she looked awful and even though she won if she plays like that in the Final Kim is going to pounce and run over her. If Li plays like she did against Azarenka I think this will actually be a really good match, but Li has a ton of pressure on her, first slam final, looking to be the first from her country to win one, and Kim has 3 slams and so many more finals under her belt...I don't know. I'd like to see Li win because I have always liked her but if she plays like she did in the SF....Kim in straights, especially since Kim prob will have revenge in mind.

Clijsters will win in 2 sets, in my opinion. I don't think we'll be seeing a repeat of what happened in the Sydney final.

Clijsters in 2 easy sets. I'd be really surprised if it would turn out otherwise. I like both players and don't care which one ones, but you just cannot deny Clijsters is the best plaer in the world right now. She's just too solid for the others.

I think Na has a very good chance. Theres less pressure now that shes already in the final and made a record for China.

my gahd, so many voted for Li Na! Even more than Clijsters...

I would still be happy if Clijsters won so Wozniacki can no longer stay at no 1 (maybe mot straight after the AO but soon)

clijsters, like serena williams, is a big match player. it difficult to see her losing this title.

Clijsters to win it here.

Historically, WTA players from 1997-present that reached first GS final tend to lose:

Wozniacki - 09 USO
Jankovic - 08 USO
Safina - 08 RG
Bartoli - 07 W
Ivanovic - 07 RG
Dementieva - 04 RG
Henin - 01 W
Clijsters - 01 RG
Mauresmo - 99 AO
V Williams - 97 USO

Notable exceptions: Serena Williams 99 USO, Martina Hingis 97 AO, Iva Majoli 97 RG, Lindsay Davenport 98 USO, Jennifer Capriati 01 AO, Anastasia Myskina 04 RG, Maria Sharapova 04 W, Svetlana Kuznetsova 04 USO

Odds don't look too god for Li Na, even though it would be cool if she does win for Asia.

I like Clijsters, but Na Li has really burst onto the scene. My head says Kim, heart says Na.

Would have said Clijsters in 2 were it not for the fact that Li Na beat her two weeks ago in a final in Sydney, from being 5-0 down she won the first set 7-6 and the second 6-3. Either way - we're going to see someone claim their first Aussie Open.

I'd like to see Li win and Kim is one of my favorites too so I wouldn't be too heartbroken if Kim won.

IMHO, this match is a toss up. Both players go through slumps in matches and it'll come down to who has the least UE's.

Both are power hitters but Kim is better in every department and has far more big match experience. If Kim is on form and playing well, which she is, and not having an inexplicable loss of attention like AO2010, only Serena Williams can beat her on hard. Even then it will be a tossup. Head says Kim in 2 - unless Li can find some kind of Michael Chang 1989FO like inspiration.

Li could consider playing more doubles with Zheng or Yan Zi the doubles specialist. She's unquestionably right to set up and attack the net but the horrible swinging volleys and no smash ruins her good work. Nothing to do with size; Hingis and Henin had lethal smashes. If only she could improve her volleys and be really confident she could indeed be near unstoppable.

Clijsters in two IMO, maybe three. I really want to see her win more majors outside the us open. Hope she can end her carrear with 6 or 7

The irony of the balance of this poll is I personally think if Li Na were to win she would have to do it in 2 sets. She looked exhausted near the end of her Wozniacki semifinal and I cant see her lasting a whole 3 sets if it goes 3.
