Wondering About a New Racquet Choice

Racquet Suggestions

Ive been using the tt-scream for a bit now, And I'm looking for a change based on these reasons:
Its TOO damn powerful
Its Stiff,
Its hard to get feel
hard to generate the spin I want with it(I play on clay
107 oversize head, is kind of clumsy on volleys.

I play with a 1 hand backhand, Mostly slice and flat, and weak topspin on the backhand, and a Topspin forhand. I prefer the baseline to the net. My serves are almost always with spin(5'6 height) I play doubles mostly, so a strong baseliners stick, with adequete manuverability would be nice

Id like something that would help keep my OHBH slice low, instead of lofty(I understand its about technique too), and Id like to be able to hit agressivly, without worrying too much about the ball going out(hence my want for spin, and a bit lower power)

The weight im used to using the racquet, is at 325grams, balanced around 9 points headlight.

After a bit of searching, Ive come across the POG mid, midplus(LB), O/S, the 03 tour-mp, Yonex rdx500 mp, Babolat aeropro drive, volk tour 9-v engine, m-speed pro OS

Now i want to whittle this down to 4 demos(I know the LB is undemoable) Could i get some help? Also im wondering how big of a change it is from going to a 107 size to maybe a 93 or so

From your list, I'd go with the POG OS. It may be a bit clumsy on volleys though, like your current racquet, but definately demo it. 107 to 93 is a huge change, but not too huge that you can't get used to it if you have good strokes. If you rely on the OS for forgiveness because you do not have great strokes, don't go anywhere near a Midsize racquet. For you I'd recommend these to demo:

POG OS
POG LB MP
Fischer M Speed Pro Number One OS
Volkl DNX V1 MP (not on your list, but worth a demo)

or you could try the o3tour. it will gives you more spin. and the thin beam will gives you more control.

I dont rely on forgiveness too much, Whenever I break strings(rarely) Its mostly on the sweetspot. I think i might be mroe comfortable with something in the 98-100 headsize

stay away from the tour 9 V-engine(both 18x20 and 16x19).They are unplayable unless leaded up.

i agree wtih most of the posteers, if you've been playing a lot with an oversize, going straight to a mid isn't going to help that much.

i'd recomend that o3 tour. and i haven't played with the others.

Although id like a 100 inch headsize on a pog, The only thing is the longbody. And that would probably be horrible for my 1hand bh, and i cant even demo it

Yeah you'd want no longer than a 27.5 inch racquet for a one-handed backhand, and 27 inches is preferrable. I'd recommend the AeroPro Drive, nBlade, Liquidmetal Instinct (or Tour XL), or M-Fil 300.

Well, I can probably only demo 4, wish it was 6 or so. I agree with the APD, but the nblade and instict is a no. I hate wilson, and the instinct is supposed to be really hard to get spin

if you want feel, flexy feeling, and less power and stiffness, go for the rdx 500 mp

My vote goes to the M-Speed 105. I owned a pair and they were spin monsters with a buttery feel and were relatively low powered. Also the grip shape help to promote a 1HBH (unlike the rounder shape of Prince racquets).

Final_Match_Point,

Feel/touch is not the APD's forte. Excellent racquet for generating spin and provides good power (bit too much for me but the spin does make it easy to control) but not great for finesse shots. Really shouldn't be a problem given you don't rely on net play.

If you're curious about the POG longbody Id be having a look at the Prince Diablo Midplus. 27.25 inches long, 10pts HL, 332g static weight and 316 swingweight. A very easy racquet to play with (comfort wise) and excellent for clay. Larger sweetspot than the POG longbody and, I believe, a slightly more forgiving feel.

The 03 Tour MP is a good choice and the midplus headsize is a benefit on clay. You do get irregular bounces and you do want to generate a bit more spin than on a hardcourt. The MP helps you out in both areas.

Note that all of them have open string patterns which will help you generate spin.

The Tour 9 isn't the best offering from Volkl, however, it is nowhere near unplayable (that is ridiculous) and you'll only know if you give it a try. That being said, you might find the DNX 9 (or DNX 8 if you want a larger headsize) a better option - especially the DNX 9.

Really just depends on your standard of play and how much you want to spend.

you should try give the flexpoint radical tour a shot. 100 in. flexible frame, very spin friendly. A bit lower on power. I've used it myself a couple times, and it's really nice. I use the regular mp though. Take a look at the review.
