One of the more colossal flops of many fails by Chevrolet in the early ‘00’s was the Chevrolet SSR (Super Sport Roadster), a high-powered gas guzzling retractable roof convertible pickup truck. All style (retro 40’s pickup look) and no function (very small payload capacity), the vehicle was produced for just three years from 2004 to 2006 and the company sold just 24K units before pulling the plug.

There was madness in any direction, at any hour. You could strike sparks anywhere. There was a fantastic universal sense that whatever we were doing was right, that we were winning...

So now, less than five years later, you can go up on a steep hill in Las Vegas and look West, and with the right kind of eyes you can almost see the high water mark — that place where the wave finally broke, and rolled back.”

The body types do resemble each other. I wonder what swarthy complexioned and portly gentleman around here could play the role of lawyer/chauffeur???

I’d walk a mile across the sky with Cool Hand Luke to enjoy a pint of Guinness with Obi-Wan Kenobi Guinness and we then might discuss or disgust why we have failure to communicate.

Failure to Communicate, House M.D., season 2, episode 10.

Fletcher: I grapple average. Cancer glisten.

Cameron tells House the patient's message: he “Couldn't tackle the bear" and "They took my stain"
House finally realizes the word “stain” substitutes for “brain” and "bear" is substituting for "polar" - the patient has bipolar disorder and kept it secret, but confirms it.

Shakespeare and Company, arguably the most famous independent bookstore in the world, occupies a prime piece of real estate facing the Seine in Paris, not far from the Latin Quarter, Place Saint-Michel, and Boulevard Saint-Germain. The river is just a stone’s throw from the front door, and a strong ultimate-Frisbee player could probably nail the south side of Notre Dame—halfway across the Seine on Île de la Cité—from one of the shop’s second-floor windows. The view is that good.

Sylvia Beach, the owner of Shakespeare & Company, was one of the many people described by Hemingway in his A Moveable Feast memoir about his days as a struggling writer in 1920’s Paris. The bulk of the content of the published book were contained in notebooks Hemingway handwrote but misplaced in a large travel chest his friend Louis Vuitton had designed for him that wound up being stored in the basement of the Paris Ritz for nearly four decades. Over lunch one day in the hotel restaurant in the mid-50’s, Charles Ritz mentioned the trunk’s existence to Papa H, had it brought up to his office and they opened the trunk to find those notebooks along with various possessions. Hemingway took the notebooks and began work on what turned into the classic published posthumously in 1964.

Before I was born, my parents lived in the same apartment that F. Scott Fitzgerald lived in decades before. There is a derogatory mention of Fitzgerald's Paris apartment in A Moveable Feast, but it may have been a different.Paris apartment that he lived in, or remodeled, as I have seen photos of my parents' apartment and it was very nice.
