yes or no :: can nadal win 6 us open title ?

I think this question depends on whether or not Nadal wins at the 2020 us open.

If Nadal wins the 2020 us open, it would be the number 1 candidate for the 2021 us open.

If Nadal doesn't win the 2020 us open, I think he could end his career with 4 USO wins.
how do you think ?

The answer is NO, Nadal will never win 6 USO titles.

With the draws he's been getting there, I'd be surprised if he doesn't win 8 and become the all-time leader.

You don't get "draws"

If Rafa is playing low ranked opponents in Grand Slam matches is simply because the Top seeds, the guys that were supposed to be there failed miserably and lost against the "Berrettini's of the world"

So if Rafa is playing against "Berrettini" in a Grand Slam semifinal ask why Roger, Novak, Thiem, Wawrinka, Zverev are not there..

we can't predict anything until they all strike their first ball after the sport returns........a lot of people are expecting easy picking at slams for top guns but i think the next gen is ready to show them their way out........

Djokovic will spoil Nadal's party and win 3 more instead for an open era record...you just watch! You heard it first! Starting this year and two more consecutive title defenses!

Can't see why not, even if he doesn't win it this year (if it's even played). It's very doable.

And what happens if the 2020 US Open is not be possible to be playing because of the covids?
have you thought about that scenery?

There's a possibility, but I doubt it. I would've said 4 US Opens was out of the question, but I don't think he's winning another US Open, and 2 is a lot harder.

He is the second best player on hard court at the moment, and we know Djokovic's performances at the US Open do not border on excellence as he does constantly in Australia.
After Paris, New York is Spanaird's second home.
Although the probability is very low, it is not entirely far-fetched.
He will have to win the US Open 2020 ipso facto.

Lmao this. I don't think he would even be on as many as his right now without his cupcake draws and whilst i agree that you can only play who is in front of you, i don't think anyone can deny that 2 of his US open titles were a joke in terms of opponents. Did he even play a seeded player before the final in 2017?

He'll win 10 with his tenth title being won in the final which will be the first US open match between Nadal and Federer with Federer losing 0-6 in the 3rd set, afterwhich Tennis will be shutdown and never played again.

Yes he can. He is one of the best players in tennis history, with 4 titles under his belt. One must play extremely good tennis to stop him, like in-form Djokovic or some kind of nextgen perfect storm.
Novak is my favorite, but objectively - Nadal is extremely good at USO, him winning 2 more titles in next 5 years should be no surprise to anyone.

Murray beat the 15th seed (Kyrgios), 12th seed(Tsonga), 10th seed(Berdych) and 6th seed(Raonic) back to back to win the title. That's what a normal run looks like and Raonic was arguably the 2nd best grass player that year since he made the final of both Queens and Wimbledon and had just beaten Federer to make the final. That compares to Nadal's 2017... how exactly? He played 2 seeds in his entire run and neither of them were even in the top 20 at the time LOL

Well his hard court nemesis Novak was hurt for both those runs. He wasn't even there in 2017. Not like "oh he played poorly, so credit to Rafa he was the better player that week." Not to mention Roger playing through a back injury during a year where he'd already beaten him in 3 straight hard court matches.

It's not like Rafa didn't play well in those runs, but he absolutely got some help. It's naive to not think so.

Berdych and Tsonga were washed up at this point.
Kyrgios was a good rival but nothing extraordinary.
And Raonic as an opponent in a Grand Slam final; There are no words to describe it.

And Federer was "lucky" in the AO 2018, and the same with Djokovic at the US Open 2018; but several remain silent and say nothing.

If he does win 6 there then imo it will be a strong case for him to be called goat with slam record and being leader at 2 of the 4 slams.

It is definitely possible. Nadal gains confidence by winning and thanks to that he's now a different animal at USO. Used to be better at AO but all the losses in the finals to his main rivals must have taken its toll. At the USO he has the luck of the draw (though not his fault) where his main rivals are wiped out early for him to build some much needed momentum across the years and I feel he also understood the need to be aggressive so he had more of a killer instinct compared to at the AO and hit a little flatter. The two finals wins against Djokovic helped his confidence a lot too.

Nadal was scheduled to play Berdych, Dimitrov and Federer in succession before the final of the USO in 2017, Berdych had just made Wimbledon semis, Dimitrov was having the best year of his career with that AO semi final and winning Cincy, and we all know how much of a nemesis Federer was to Nadal at that point. Berdych beaten early, Dimitrov lost his momentum and Federer came in injured.

It wasn't like Nadal was gifted a joke of a draw, the half they were all in was considered the top heavy half. Nadal played who he did, he didn't hand pick them, or was on the other side of the draw all by himself. Not sure why Nadal gets so much heat for this.

Because those were odd ones out. Rafa's had that level of draw 2 of the last 3 years. If it happens again then it's a pattern.

The problem is mostly semantics. I don't anyone here are stupid enough to think he actually got a draw of no top 20 players, which is what he ended up facing. But "draw" is typically used in place of "path."
