Honestly, Thiem should be the biggest favorite this year. But he isn't, because the young players have no idea how to beat Djokovic in a slam.
As for Nadal, he is done. If he meets Thiem he doesn't even win a set.

Thiem should own Djokovic on clay right now. But mentally he is not always there. That RG 2019 semifinal should have been a routine 4 set win.

When the hell has any Fed fan ever proclaimed this choker as a "savior?" What a joke. Almost every Fed fan has proclaimed Thiem garbage competition and a choker since 2014. It's the Nadal fans who viciously hype him to try and make his competition seem "fierce."

Thiem’s “peak” was getting beat by Schwartzmann and taking one measly set off of Nadal, and he had a small breakdown trying to get it, and proceeded to get demolished. Maybe this year is different, but that’s been said since 2010.

Thing with Nadal only being taken to 5 sets at the French twice is because he really goes for the throat after losing 1 set. The Isner match aside, Nadal feels out the opponent whoever it might be in the first two sets. He will usually win one of those sets and go ham afterwards. I think at this point he just knows all the nooks and crannies so well his physical deterioration isn't so much a handicap as we all thought.
The only guy who can beat him is Novak completely on point or if Rafa is seriously injured.
And yeah, his 2015 loss is a joke to me. The only person to really beat him ever was Robin Soderling pound for pound. And even then, Nadal withdrew from Wimbledon due to "tendonitis in both knees" so yeah.

Not too sure about that early to judge but i think his generation is better than the Next Gen clowns.
I hope he will do well, but the more I watch him play, the less I’m convinced.

He’s a solid player and has been improving alright, but I don’t feel he’s ATG material. Just my subjective opinion. I really like the kid and hope to be wrong about him.
