2-2 In the Third Set. it was Justine serving at 15-15 or 15-30. ESPN didn't show this because they panned out, but one European station had one of their cameras fixated on him.

ESPN showed Justine yelling at something but you couldn't hear what she was saying. Immediately afterwars the Chair Ump asked for people not to yell during points.

Apparently, Jim Courier's turn as commentator for Australia's Channel 7 was not particularly well received by all Aussies -- said some pretty lame things and a lot of his attempts at humor fell flat, according to some of the newspapers. Too bad. I think JC's a good guy with a very good dry sense of humor, but not able to be THE funny man on a broadcast team.

For a while now, my impression of Yuri Sharapov has been that he's a peasant. A peasant-turned-tennis-dad, the latest in a line of them. Not ESPN, but a number of other media organizations will continue to follow him around and expose his classless demeanor and behavior, gleefully and mercilessly. Couldn't happen to a better fellow.

As an Aussie I really liked JC, he's better than anyone else we've got (ie. JA, Sandy Roberts, and that really gay guy who hosts channel 7 stuff who did the mens presentation).

BTW, what a stupid thing to do by Yuri. Damir Dokic got strong penalties by the WTA for a variety of things, why should Yuri escape a harsh punishment for this? I personally would recommend the punishment of 10 Rounds in the Boxing ring with Justine, I'm sure she'd kill him.....literally.

I suspect this has everything to do with what a "hot property" Maria is in the world outside tennis (her huge endorsement deals, etc.). Officials and others in tennis see her as "good for tennis" so she and Yuri get special treatment.

For me, the irony is that Maria shrieks like a fishwife when she plays (apologies to fishwives everywhere), and I imagine any non-tennis person who actually tunes in to one of her matches would be shocked by the screaming. Would probably turn the match off very quickly and say to themselves, "Oh well, she has a pretty face. I'll just look at her ads."
