Not a bad day yesterday, though my heart beating a bit faster when I say a Pro Staff case from the corner of my eye slowed down again, when inside I "only" found a PS95 and not a PS85 ... But still, looks almost like new, and the Fairway grip alone made it worth it ;-)
Other finds, all in very decent shape
- Head Director
- Le Coq Sportif Concept 3 OS
- Dunlop Select Pro Revelation
- POG 110 - 4 stripes
- Rossi F200 Carbon in white
"Why should I be unpleasant when I can just as well be nice?"

That PS95 is probably worth more and rarer than an 85. Besides, I bet it plays great.
I just picked up two Yamaha Secret 04 racquets with covers. They both have large grips with Fairway leather that appear to be built up. I haven't had time to inspect them yet but the frames are in excellent condition.
Yam Secret 04'?
I'll have to email you
I'll post pics later. Great shape!
And it's turquoise! At first I thought from the pictures it was a Graphite Pro, but helas, it was not to be.
It's a real 89 sq. in. head, I may re-string it and take it out for a hit, see if this is the new head size for me.
Great find! I would play with the existing strings. They look new/unplayed and synthetic (nylon), which means nothing much has happened to them. They are probably still good to play.
The KFactor 90 is very head light .. probably 10pts with overgrip. Head rackets are usually 6pt or so. At equal weight, you new find should have a higher SW..Update on the swingweight: I was comparing it yesterday to a KFactor 90 and the swingweight seems quite higher on the Head. This thing is a club!

Didn't find it in a Thrift Store (but can I still post?), but a local classifieds. Seller was asking $20 for it, and he got it.
It's a Head Power Plus, i'd say circa 1990, maybe someone can confirm or correct. It's brand new, strung, but never been hit. No scratches anywhere, only one small chip, which I image came from the one time he dropped it during a moving day.
Has no specs written anywhere, but so far it weighs 355g strung and a headlight balance of 6 points. I find it has a high swingweight, maybe 330+ grams.

Whomever stenciled that must have been hammered that day...Didn't find it in a Thrift Store (but can I still post?), but a local classifieds. Seller was asking $20 for it, and he got it.

Yesterday I removed the string job and the grommets were so dry they all crumbled! lol
Never had that happen to me, but mind you, I'm no collector.
I would say its from 1988.Didn't find it in a Thrift Store (but can I still post?), but a local classifieds. Seller was asking $20 for it, and he got it.

@Xfimpg was that racquet in Sherbrooke on kijiji? I had tried to contact the seller but I guess you had beat me to it!

The Yamaha Secret 04 is a great collectible classic. It's the stiffest racquet I've ever played with. I'm way jealous of the Black Max. I've been on the hunt for this for ages . I have one but its in cr@p condition. Maybe a 7/10.I have had some nice acquisitions over the past two weeks. I found two of these at Goodwill and two at Play it Again. I paid about $50 total for all. The Pro Staff is a St. Vincent. The Black Max is unused. The Yamaha Secret 04 is a racquet I'm not familiar with, and the Snauwaert Ellipse is just cool.

I have a friend in NY who occasionally comes out to SA. She's my tennis racket mule. Maybe we can talk on email. No sales talk allowed in here. My email is ciaronf@gmail.comThe Black Max was a surprise, but amazingly, I found one at this very same Goodwill a couple of years ago NOS unstrung, hangtag, brochure and original receipt all intact. I was thinking about figuring out a way to work a deal with you for the Black Max, and then I noticed where you were from. Racquets are just too expensive to ship internationally........
Those Lacostes and the Snauwaerts were a great acquisition. Where did you find those?
Great set of classic graphite finds ! Wheres the Wood ? Most all post graphite and too few woods are left these days ?I have had some nice acquisitions over the past two weeks. Do you mean that you dont consider woods as "playable racquets these days" ?I see a lot of woods. I just concentrate on playable racquets these days.
I don't generally play with woods. I would grab one if it was something I really liked, like a minty Maxply Fort (and I'm still waiting for a Hazell Streamline to show up at GoodwillDo you mean that you dont consider woods as "playable racquets these days" ?
I think many pickers may have this same opinion.
It is a challenge to play a graphite player using wood as you need to counter power with allcourt skills taking advantage of placement and angles. Maybe even consider serve/volley which can be a real surprise tactic these days
Nice catch today
... apologies for the crappy picture quality:shock:
Have you had a chance to hit with it?
...but I do not recall the string tension at all, so I couldn't tell you if it felt very stiff at least partially due to strings.Arm-wrecker(at least a the common tensions of the day); but what a cool looking racket! Great find!
Yes, I did take it out for a spin shortly after I had bought it. If I remember right, with the natural gut I had found it with.
And, I remember it to be quite powerful, precise and stiff. Or to quote:

I shall take it out for another hit soon...it's such a cool looking racket!

It actually feels quite comfortable on the arm these old school graphites. And TF40 has a bit of boron that produces a really unique feel!
Dunlop and Wilson cost a fiver each in the Southfields Oxfam on the way back from Wimbledon (spotted some early 90s Head twaron (no prestiges), pro kennex, donnay and prince in there too).
There's definitely a comp pro there (pinky-purple glittery paint job), which you might interested in judging from your sig, and I think there was another one but I confess I didn't get the name of it. All rackets for £5, few woodies there too.Which Head twaron racquets?
