I can relate to what Minion wrote - Head apparently still produces these sticks in great quantities, yet regular customers cannot buy them. This has been discussed ad nauseam in this forum, but your fortune just sheds water on the mills of so many Head fans.

yea i can understand. i cant order them all the time but occasionally i get the ok and have the buy them in a pretty high quantity. I usually tinker around with them and clients of mine from the Hamptons usually just eat them up when I'm done with them. I gave a high school player down here 4 of my old pt57a a few months ago after he hit with them and started dominating. I was out of them and got bummed but then lucked into getting some more. I really like the new prestige paint job too. It is a bit different than the retail job as far as shiny paint goes

why does this make you sad?

they come un-customized. You can see in the pics they haven't even been cut to size yet. I will have them done at 27.25" length, 346g unstrung, and will tweak the balance a bit until its right

Can you let me know, when you are done with them? I might be interested in 1 or 2. Please shoot me an email with a price indication: frinton(at)gmx(dot)ch

Why sleep when there is tennis and talk tennis :)

And yes my fave colours for rackets, though seems to be most prevalent in mids i like anyway

Just find a PT280 or PT630 on TW Classifieds or Eb*y. Both are considered PT57A's.

I've looked on the bay. The main problem for me, in ordering from there, is that most of the sellers use the postal service. The problem with that, is that the morons on this side, does not know that tennis racquets do not have import duty on them. I found that out the hard way. Import duty here is 40% of the item value, even though our import laws explicitly states that racquets are exempt. And if you don't pay it, you don't get your item. So, some of them simply refuse to a courier service like UPS.

But it's ok. I'm happy with my IG Prestige Pro's:D

Won't stop me from admiring the PT57 though:)
If you like the 293.1, (I do as well [emoji4]) the 57a is NOT in your wheel house. It will hit similar to a wet noodle!

Now the 57e is, on the other hand, fairly comparable.

I must say though, I've recently hit with the PS 95 - the white, red, gold lettering one, and I can feel the racquet flex when I hit the ball - I love that. Reminds me of my Max200G.

Cape Town is on my bucket list, a friend of mine is there for around 2 months every year and can't stop praising the place.

I wouldn't waste my time / money if I were you. This place is a rubbish dump (not CT specifically, the country in general.)

Sh sh sh shut your mouth!!!:D I don't even need as many as I have. Maybe back in the day when I was breaking strings more often but that was with a Prince Shark at 100 square inches and 16x19. I'm assuming you have the same racquets? They're nice.

Looks like the ig midplus right? If so, yes that's what I play. You may think you have too many now, but ask folks if they wished they stocked up on prestige classics or pro tours when they had the chance 20 years ago! That's the main reason I keep one brand new. Surely some day way down the road I'll think back to how fine the ig midplus played and I'll have they new one to break out. Nostalgia ain't what it used to be.

Three of them are Youtek Mids and four are the IG Mids. Really like them and wish I had discovered the Prestige line earlier. What do you normally use?

Awesome rax! Say are those Prestige mids?

Thanks Cap, and yes they're the Prestige Mids.

Guys, here's my latest acquisitions, hope you like them

1st., a good old classic feeling stick, Slazenger Pro Braided, Tim Henman's racquet of choice when he was on the tour. I need grommets for it, besides that issue the racket is in ok condition, and plays good. Plays like a lighter and less powerful PS 6.1 Classic.

The 2nd. is a more modern player's frame, Dunlop M2.0. I bought this racquet almost new for a very nice price, added some weight to the handle (the racket weight's 344 grams now has it is), new strings and dampner, and it's good to go. It's a good racquet, very different compared to my 6.0 95's: has that modern feeling I usually don't like very much, it's stiff, and has way more pop and spin access. Love it on one handed backhands, lacks feeling on touch shots. Needs to be strung with low tension

Didn't Henman use PS 6.1Classic under Slazenger pj?

Henman played with 6.1 classic before he got sponsored by Slazenger, and Slazenger made a slightly modified clone of the 6.1 ( I read somewhere that 6.1 grommets fit on Pro Braided), more light and a bit flexier. Dunlop still built this racquet under the pro stock code option 2C, played by Tommy Robredo

Henman played with an extended and weighted up Pro Braided, with a couple of differences compared with the stock Pro Braided

If you google by Henman's racquet you can see pics from his racquets on stringforum, like these https://www.stringforum.net/board/showthread.php?t=6837

Thanks for info, so i understand that he played some kind of modified PS 6.1?

Appreciate the honestly, but hearing it is depressing. GF wants to take me there next year (she was born in Durban), and a flight there is not cheap... =(

The neverending struggle to find the right string for me...

Finding the right string is a never ending battle with the CR97. What setup/string did you like the best and what tension, if I may ask?
