With a 14 car garage!

Tennis star Jelena Janković is serving up her custom-built mansion for $13.5 million. Janković bought the bare lot in a gated community in San Diego in 2008 for $1.53 million. Completed in 2014, her home is simply smashing.

The multiyear construction involved an Italian design firm that built parts of the home in Europe. The pieces were then shipped to San Diego, and many of the walls, millwork, and stonework were installed on-site.

“It's definitely one of those true craftsmen-built home,” says listing agent Ryan Dalzell.

"The level of detail is really amazing,” he adds, noting the wood-paneled office with the coffered ceiling, which was designed and custom-built abroad.

The home on the 2-acre property measures 15,113 square feet and has eight bedrooms and 11 bathrooms.

Two master suites—one on the main floor and one on the upper level—provide multiple living options. The main level includes the office, formal living room, and great room with travertine walls, wood beams, and glass doors. Luxury finishes include imported marble, onyx, and walnut

Why on earth did she bother spending so much money on this place when she hardly bothers to use it?

Looks very nice though but where's the tennis court?

She clearly invested her money well. I don't know what her endorsement income was but the lifetime prize money of 19 million would be at the upper edge for all she's spent on this stretched over time. She also has other homes. So she's probably earned over 50 million collectively.

Well in these RE endeavors, a silent partner(s) is/are usually involve for the financing, development of it! She might going forward have acquired the knowledge now for going it on her own but she only has built 5 properties worldwide.

RF home is one of the larger private jets. RF should learn to fly since he could easily get a commercial airline qualifications license with all the time he is in his jet!

Did not follow. Private jets are usually not flown by the owners/passengers.

JJ is not stupid. I could say she is kinda primitive a bit. It's too bad she did not win a major.

It seems ages since we last saw her on a tennis court. Does anyone know what gives with her these days (apart from selling houses)? I know she has been injured and undergone some surgery. Does she still plan a comeback at some stage?

I read a brief blip on Jankovic dated 2018 and if I remember some of it, say - she has had surgery for her back in 2017 again and then in 2018 surgery for her eye. The article says she want to comeback and play tour level tennis again. I sure when she is ready, many tournament directors will give Jankovic a WC just to help her. I guess she is trying to finish up on the RE thing in SD and maybe play in the late Summer some matches?

Good for her. She worked hard for her money (insert Donna Summers joke here). I know it took years to build. I remember Tracy Austin going on about it when it was being built. What I didn't know was that she was a car collector/

I mean what are else are you supposed to do with millions of dollars? Help people? Pfft.
I'd buy a decent house, 1-2 sports cars, leave some cash for yourself and invest the other 90% (or whatever is left) in property, land, gold/silver and crypto. Hey, but that's just me, you can buy 14 cars half of which you use once or twice instead.

I'd rather give some cash to charity that I verify myself than buy 10 more cars than I actually need, totally serious.

I don't get the point of having 14 cars, seems like a total waste.

These guys are basically "buying" happiness (or rather joy).
14 is the spaces - so you can throw a party and you have a parking lot in your basement.

To me, one car is enough - if I have money I'll buy an expensive one. I guess I can see how it would be impractical to use a sports car for driving the kid to school etc? Idk. I guess at some point it's a hobby, like buying art or boats

Agreed. 12 cars would be more than enough.
Haha, yes. Way.
I see Two carerras, one of them a cabriolet. Okayy. But why a jag suv and a porsche suv, i wonder? I guess i get the lambo, brrrrpp! But that maserati coupe? Nah.

If i had that garage: yeah, a porsche, a jeep, a solid sedan, and a party bus (sprinter). Maybe a track car. The rest of the garage is just party space for a tennis wall and three table tennis tables. Maybe a squash court or a mini tennis court? Oh, and a big fridge with cool drinks.

The point of extravagant wealth is not caring about the wasted space. It's a huge mansion, there's already courts and entertainment suites elsewhere.

I agree it is a waste of spending. I'd walk that back a little if the money she spent on them was earned from income generated by other real estate or passive investments she owned. Money making money.
