Who said that? Anyway I think he has declined speed wise, but Federer was never hitting through him on clay. Maybe if he was 25 again. I'd actually favour him in that scenario by a bit, but not when he's 37.

Well, I don't think most of us were expecting much. Maybe I hoped that he'd play better than I did in my match last night, but what can ya do.
I mean he's playing okay... the decision making at times is a bit frustrating, but I don't know what he can do in these conditions.

But fed was up 40-0. Couldn't get 1 free point on serve, lost 5 points in a row. couldn't finish off points at the net. that's a choke.

yes rafa is amazing we get it. we could still be annoyed at some of teh decision making. no one is saying that its all fed but lets not pretend fed isnt making silly errors as well.

I don't know how Nadal won this set, seriously. I thought Federer had him at 4-3 on these two deuce points which Nadal somehow won with passing shots. Then this break from 40-0.

Federer is playing well but he keeps messing up the last decicing shots time and time again, weird choices and sloppy execution. This doesn’t look like their previous clay matches but the scoreline is similar.

Fed making it competetive, but at the end of the day making the same bonehead decision on big points, and not putting pts away the he should.
serve is crap but has not been great the whole tournament.
bh has held up really well, and return is ok.
Nadal playing in 3rd gear and when he has to kicks it up to 6th gear on big points. He's just a much better athlete for clay.

You can criticize your favorite player. This has been a lame match for feddy. I don’t see the energy or the belief inside which is nothing new on this surface against nadal.

It looked pretty bad earlier. Dunno if it's settled down now or it just has that appearance because the players have settled into the conditions. My impression is that it has settled a bit.

I was perfectly happy with what I was seeing until that 9th game. He lost focus from 40-0 up. Simple as that.
