Less emotion than Pliskova?Ice princess Rybakina. She just doesn't have emotion.
I really want to see her win Premier+ or Slam.

vii. Wild Card Maximum
Except as otherwise set forth herein, the maximum number of Wild Cards a player may receive into singles Premier and International Tournaments during a Tour Year is six (6), with a maximum of three (3) allowed in the Main Draw. This maximum does not apply to Wild Cards accepted into Grand Slams. Wild Cards accepted into Women’s ITF World Tennis Tour events and WTA 125Ks count separately.
The maximum number of Wild Cards a player may receive into singles WTA 125Ks during the calendar year is three (3). These Wild Cards are in addition to the maximum number of Wild Cards allowed in Premier/International Tournaments.
It is the player’s responsibility to track the number of Wild Cards she has used.
Absolutely baffled by next weeks entry list for Acapulco and Doha.
Why on earth is #12 Keys playing an International instead of Premier 5 Doha? She must be getting one hell of a payday to skip a Premier 5 tournament offering up to 900 points for a tournament that will get her a max 280 points. It makes sense for #2 seed Sloane since she's ranked #34 and is 0-3 this year but Keys made the Brisbane final and AO 3R and would've been the 10th seed. Could genuinely have gone deep in Doha.
Former n1 can get unlimited amount of wcs.Is there a limit to how many wildcards a player can get a year? Might be a good idea for Clijsters to take one into Acapulco. Much weaker draw, could go far and bring up that ranking. Unless she's saving all the wildcards for the big tournaments.
You could make that argument for pretty much any tournament that's not in the USA. It's a Premier 5 tournament after all.Maybe Keys doesn‘t want to stress herself travelling that far. If she‘s in the USA right now it wont make sense to fly to Doha and then right back.
Found this in the ol’ rule book...
Less emotion than Pliskova?
Today the battle of the ice queensThis is her first title last year. Almost similar at Hobart last month.
Zero expression.

You probably guessed from all the "Likes", but I really appreciate these summaries. I keep up with tennis, but I certainly don't have all this info ready in my mind. It's great to read your posts to put the matches in context. So once in words rather than with an upvote: Thanks!Dubai QF's:
(1) Halep v (7) Sabalenka
(Q) Brady v (9/WC) Muguruza
(8) Martic v Kontaveit
(SE) Rybakina v (2) Pliskova
Pretty darn good lineup.
Wimbledon champ v Wuhan champ
Brisbane QFist v Aus Open runner up (and 2x slam champ)
French Open QFist v Aus Open QFist
Most match wins of 2020 v Brisbane champ and world #3.

So it's Rybakina vs Halep or Sabalenka in the SFs - I'm excited for this one either way. Really intrigued to see what Rybakina can do this year if this form continues. SFs Halep will be a challenge with plenty of match play, and likewise Sabalenka as late in to tournaments she's often a lot more dialled in and dangerous. I'm hoping the winner of this half of the draw takes the title.
nope. Rybakina vs Martic (Beatable)
Halep vs Brady (Beatable)
What's up with Brady? crop up some good results recently. She trolls a lot on insta.
She's doing brilliantly to make so many finals but she lost handily in Shenzen and last week in St. Petersburg, so I'm wondering how clutch she can be in finals realistically. I think this final if she plays Halep will be interesting as she's just had the experience of a final against Bertens, a top 10 player, last week (albeit not a slam champ).Sheesh Rybakina is just winning matches like crazy. She might win a slam this year.
Yep think I said that last week, probably a Premier+ title.Sheesh Rybakina is just winning matches like crazy. She might win a slam this year.
I have always been curious about the Russian tennis system. They seem very capable of producing many many good players but very few great ones. I wonder why that is.Russia ought to be kicking themselves lettinng Rybakina slip away. Russia has had a lot of talent but a lot of it has slipped away. Kasatkina just plummeted as soon as she got into the top 10 and now she’s out of the top 60. Makarova announced her retirement last month. Sharapova is as good as done. Kuznetsova and Pavlyuchenkova are still around but not top 10 worthy. Gone are the days of Dementieva, Zvonareva, Safina and Kirilenko.
At the end of 2009 Russia had four players inside the top 10, now they have 0 in the top 25.
Rybakina into her 4th final of the year. I repeat that in 2018 and 2019, the most finals made by a player in the entire year was 6. February isn’t even over and she’s 2/3rds of the way there.
You can read about the topic in this tgread. Kazachstan is buying players. I already mentioned it 2 years ago that they bought Rybakina and russian junior n1. Dunno where he is at but Rybakina was a pretty good buyRussia ought to be kicking themselves lettinng Rybakina slip away. Russia has had a lot of talent but a lot of it has slipped away.
