I’m going to buy like 4 of the blue with white RF hats if they aren’t Uber expensive, can’t wait for when they eventually put RF on his clothes, I’ll actually buy them!

TW carries RF foundation stuff, so the fact that they will carry uniqlo RF caps isn't too shocking, since those were pretty much the main item when he was with nike. Djokovic foundation was carrying his uniqlo gear through seperate store as well, so that is the exception to their otherwise self carrying distribution. Won't happen this year, but in January or February, why not?

Yeah, I checked the uniqlo website at like 8:30 in the morning before getting on my work call, the caps were not available for purchase. Finish my call at 10 and check again, only 3 colors available because everything else sold out, and when I try to pick up a black one, it says sold out. As of 10:08am EST only caps available are dark green and light blue... better luck next time I guess!

Basically sold out in minutes in typical Uniqlo fashion, couple colors left. What's really bad is they are just cotton hats, not the DriFit material, which Uniqlo has. Personally Cotton hats are good for just walking around but not great for playing as they stain and get dirty quickly.

Glad I got the Nike RF hats in black/white and red so I have those at least.

As soon as I read they were cotton I decided to not buy them. Uniqlo is doing a **** job with his gear honestly.

It's really frustrating. Uniqlo has no grasp of the scope and inclinations of RF fans. They seem to think that a cotton RF hat for casual wear is more attractive to a base comprised of people who actually play tennis. Oh, and undersupplied cotton hats at that.

The cracks in Uniqlo's activewear model are showing.

It's a shame how bad Uniqlo is handling the RF line - they have some good active wear products, why not make them RF?! Seems like a simple win. I would think creating an an RF Active line and RF Experience line would be good for both players and non-players. Otherwise, get Fed back to Nike!

It has been explained multiple times that Uniqlo is not a sports apparel company, and their marketing doesn't revolve around that, so the bitter complaints about how they don't behave like one are pointless.

As for Federer going back to Nike: Nike had the chance to keep him, and failed. For the near future he is with Uniqlo.

BTW, Nike did plenty of the same with Federer's apparel when he was with them, despite of being a dedicated sports company: PE stuff was a norm. They were quite demonstratively putting him in apparel that was not for sale (not even in limited quantities).

The comparison of Federer's Uniqlo kits vs Djokovic's Uniqlo kits is incredibly stark. It shows how uncreative they have become and fail to execute an exciting line - especially with their capability and resources.

Well one consistently sells out in minutes... and ones sits on clearance for months. Stark indeed.

If you have every bought or followed Uniqlo you should know exactly what you're getting and exciting patterns and graphics and stuff is NOT it.

I thought his pink Winter 2019 outfit was great. Same with the Aussie blue/teals

Ah, so by signing Roger Federer, one of the biggest names in modern sports, to a 10 year deal Uniqlo certainly reinforced their reputation for non-sports wear, which includes the ever-popular down jacket for only $39.99!

Outside of his matches on TV I have seen Federer almost exclusively in their casual wear, so, yes, they signed him to promote predominantly that.

Haha first thing I did this morning was to check these hats out and they were all in stock and I was about to buy some but then found out 100% cotton?! Since Uniqlo got the RF logo it should be around Australian Open time when we will get to buy the polyester version so I'll wait.

Nike made so many RF hats with cotton materials. Extremely rare for dry fit materials.
I am not a big fan of cotton materials for hats and I don’t use cotton hats to play tennis.
I think we will see cotton version of hats for a while and very doubtful to see poly versions from Uniqlo.
Hopefully, I want to see poly versions so I can use it for tennis too but I need to make it by myself for now.

Rare for Nike DriFit hats? I have 3 (Black/White/Red) right now and they were not hard to get through Nike or the other online stores. Uniqlo has great drifit materials as well and could make a comparable hat for on court use. They might be a 'lifestyle' brand but they are missing a big opportunity with minimal costs to the RF fans out there.

Nike went retro with Fall and it sold out so quickly they started producing more (thankfully I got some of the polo's). There are plenty of pieces of pie for everyone to be successful in this space, I just think Uniqlo is leaving too much at the table.

I was referring to Nike Dri fit (featherlight hats) with RF logos.
There are so many cotton Nike RF logo hats but I only remember less than 5 Nike drifit hats with big RF logos.
Also Uniqlo tennis hats were available for a while (now only have returning items to back in online stock occasionally but we will continue to see Uniqlo tennis hats since Nishkori uses hats. Just buy those hats when Uniqlo releases instead of waiting.

anyway, Uniqlo does not have any intentions to expanding their current activewear lines.
Possibly they saw the demand and try to make more products in the future.

I prefer that the featherlight hats that are pretty good when it comes to actually sweating in them on the court are unbranded.

I went to the NYC 5th avenue store asked about the hat, he said we received 2 of every color. I said there were 8 colors, so you only received 16 hats he said yes. Then another employee came and said "oh we were selling Federer hats, who is Federer?" No joke. My personal opinion - worst sponsor move or career move RF has ever made. It is like taking the Superman cape away from Superman - has never been able to play like he did in all of 2017 and first half of 2018 since making the Uniqlo switch.

Same racquet, same shoes, reverse engineered clothing and $30,000,000, yet he messed with the mojo...
You can make fun all you want, there is something to be said about it. When you win all your tournaments and slam with one brand and then switch at the back end of your career and everything is going right - then you switch and start having some matches slip -- it does go through your mind. I would think RF would take 1-2 more slams over $30MM a year - given he is already worth north of $500MM.

I got my two black RF hats today. They're only the second cap I've had that fits my big head. Compared to the nike one though, the Uniqlo hat does feel markably cheaper. Thinner, less structured, the bill isn't as solid... Oh well. At least it fits better than the Nike. Resell is great though so I'm gonna sell one and gift the other.

I wasn't poking fun, I agree with you; don't know about financial tipping points but confidence is as invaluable as it is fleeting and shouldn't be messed with. My point was despite all the efforts at mitigating change there still may be a correlation outside of the effects of Father Time. I guess one has to acknowledge that a younger Fed did manage to deal with the psychological effects of changing racquets; however, that didn't involve a financial incentive with the underlying public perception that he 'sold out'.

FAXXX! ha. Also, Notice that when Fed changed to Uniqlo and lost to Anderson and None that he went back to his old RF97 paint job. It started messing with him. Fed in all his years never had a pj bother him. Then after he won Basel in 2018 he said in the presser that he knows people doubted he could win again with Uniqlo -- clearly it was on his mind.

I have 2 of the Uniqlo GoRoger hats and they don't fit well at all. Feel like they never sit on my head (not overly large) or are secure so I wear them occasionally, mostly the wife/kids take them now. Overall quality is much lower than Nike ever was so even though I got up early to get RF hats and hat the oppty to get a few colors, I passed and will wear my RF Nike DriFit hats until they fall apart since washing them keeps them clean for years.
