Just piping in to give a bit more from our team...our playtesters with wider feet are wearing their true size and not having an issue with width (as are our playtesters with medium and narrow feet). We agree, they feel a bit stiff but after that initial wear they are good to go!
Feeling speedy and stable in them and I stand by the fact that they feel faster than the Vapor Cage 4 and soooo stable when planting! Working on testing that durability!

Kinda. I like the PGs... but its a totally different set of requirements for shoes. Blame modern hardcourt sliders for messing everything up

Those were good shoes. I used to own a couple of pairs.
The Court Ballistec 2.3 were probably my favorite from that line.
Very durable and a lot less snug than the Vapor Cage 4.

2.3s were nice. I found the 2x blue pairs at Nike outlet in Arizona years ago while visiting a girl I was dating. Loved those shoes. Loved the girl. Screwed it up.
Well now I’m depressed. Shoes and girls. Same old song.

Can't go wrong with classic black, white and red. These look the best out of the lot with an interesting laceless and sock fit. Though, the fine print does state that these are samples but wondering if this is a new sample or from before the NXTs were released.

The 2.3s and 3.3s were definitely my favorite Ballistecs. Both were great after I'd gotten them broken in.
I think so too but how cool do they look?!?!?!?!!!!!! Still probably heavy as a brick but always fun to see what didn't quite make it past the chopping block.

At this point, "vapor" describes the feel more so than the weight.
Vapor 9.5s were great but time has passed them by.
I do still have a pair of clay ones I use, though.

Here is my first impression on NXT that Ive used today on a hard court: Ive been playing in Vapors for 7 years now pretty much, with other shoes here and there. I expected more from this shoe. A little too narrow and super high off the ground and overall feels bulky. The height definitely doesnt make you feel comfortable, feels like you can roll your ankle easily - overall feel the opposite of Vapor X. They are heavy as well, you feel it although sprinting in them works somehow, they are not slow shoes. It's not a bad shoe but the fact that this is what they've came up with as new and improved didn't meet expectations. Get yourselves Vapor AirMax95 instead. On a plus side they do look a lot more durable than Vapor Xs that I go through within a few months time.
Credit to that chap for trying hard with these reviews; I respect his passion. I know that, in actual fact, the running community has more in-depth reviews of products where they literally dissect running shoes, so it's good to see a tennis player doing the same. Praise aside, I'm skeptical about the tests he conducts measuring the height he can jump in shoes or fast he can run in them. One would suspect that there would be too many variables that would vary from test to test.

I'll stick to the ZVC4s and X Knits - X clay courts were okay for me too, but not as supportive as others listed. Yonex Clay Eclipsion 2s still great; haven't tried 3s yet - not sure re new clay sole pattern.

Perhaps this staggered release is classic car salesmanship; sell the relatively undesirable model first knowing that early adopters will buy it anyway, discover it's less than stellar qualities and then be more than happy to jump to the new model which was purposely held back.
I, for one, am confused by the direction Nike is going with their sneakers. I also disagree with that idea that the Vapor 9.5 is somehow outdated. To me, Nike hasn't shown they can produce a superior shoe (from what I've tried). If I'm playing a match in which the fate of the free world rests on the outcome, I'm picking the 9.5s (barring no Vapor VIs available).

Totally agree with that, also, the 9 or 9.5 are both shoes i can buy, wear and play a match in instantly without have to break them in. I am sure i will buy the vapor pro, but just because i collect Vapors, not because i think they are going to be a better (looking) product.

Michelle, thanks for the info. I may try to squish my foot in. But I suspect for those of us with truly wider feet -- the EE and EEE feet -- the normal width even if on the generous size just isn't going to cut it. Can always hope to be pleasantly surprised. But I recently pulled out a pair of the old Nike iD Zoom Vapor Court 9 that they made in a true wide width, and apart from the fact since 2013 they've turned hard as rocks was impressed with when Nike made a wide shoe AND let you pick your colors. Wish they would bring that back.

This has nothing to do with "manhood". The things are hideous (except to Jo11y, but his tennis can cover for anything, so, yea, he can get away with it). I noticed that ever since Agassi Nike has feed the garish in a huge part of its customers under the false slogan to be "different".

The model Vapor X has been discontinued but the Vapor line is still there. As far as I know there will not be a Vapor XI. Nike will release Vapor Pro any moment now, which has some similarities to X, but it looks like a mashup of X, X Knit and Cage 4.

I can say that both Jason and Tiffani are testing the shoe as well and have wider feet, and they are OK with the width after the first couple hours on the court. And we all agree it takes a hit or two to break the shoes in. But this is definitely not a "wide" shoe option.
The bootie is more flexible than Nike shoes from the past, so hoping that helps accommodate wider feet!

Just got a pair of the NXT's, I had questions about the inward pronation on them or whatever its called and after wearing them for like a minute I can tell that my knees don't like em too much I don't think. I got em from Nike directly so I can try em on the court and see what I think then return them.
For reference I've worn a 9US in Gel Res8, SoleCourt Boost and Uber 2s and 9.5US in GP Turbo, ZoomZero and Vapor X (same problem with pronation though) and a 9US in the NXT is pretty much perfect. A little more snug than my usual sizing in the other shoes I've mentioned but probably a better fit overall. I have a pretty narrow foot too btw and these are pretty snug out of the box but I can see how they'd break in.

It’s the Nike Fit Dry Tennis Crew from years ago. You may can find them on the auction site, but might pay a little more than you’d like. The closest thing would be the Nike Everyday Max Cushioned Crew.

Wore the NXT teaching all day and hit with another pro for an hour. They don't feel heavy or clunky at all. They feel lighter than the VC4 but heavier than the X.
I wore them on clay and the traction was FAR better than I expected. Haven't played on hard in them so will reserve comment.
I like the pronated feel and it's nice because I play with a pretty wide base, but it wasn't uncomfortable standing around coaching.
One big big problem. There is a sharp wedge, flare out by the pinky toe that gives nice stabilization moving laterally but I almost rolled my ankle stepping back on a volley.
I'm going to do some footwork drills and feel it out but it was a brief scary moment.

Chiming in again after reading through some of this...the NXTs REQUIRE a break-in!
Give them AT LEAST an hour before you completely evaluate them! Try them one more time after that first outing on the court...maybe one more time after that...
(also, side note, we are recording a podcast on Nike shoes today...stay tuned, Troy, Chris and I will give you a bit more of our perspective, experience, etc and let you know all we know)
