imo, it's a lot more useful and fun to watch some sort of story on the prep to the match and the match itself on video than some random score in text form.
I imagine it takes time and resources to produce quality video.

That is true but this "Ian vs GSG" thread was started way back in September.

Get on with it already!

Matches? How many matches vs Ian did you play?
Around 4 matches total, all different opponents. 2 matches were actually livestreamed and someone even shared the links here but the videos are now private.

Ian made them sign an NDA, so no one's even saying that the matches are over. Ian's team will be editing and releasing the videos in about 4 to 5 weeks. Knowing Ian, he will definitely be milking the MEP matches with part 1,2,3 and highlights and analysis and what not. Ugh, Ian is like the Logan/Jake paul of youtube tennis.

I did not and would not sign an NDA. I would have nothing to gain from doing that, and more importantly, it isn't necessary. They asked me informally not to discuss the results prior to matches being posted, and I agreed not to do so as a matter of mutual trust and respect.
That's great, never sign an unnecessary NDA! Mark Sansait said on his recent livestream than an NDA was involved, so I assumed it applied to you as well. I stand corrected.

Mark is more of a partner in business now, and Mark also has intentions to make a full time job/income out of tennis/youtube/videos, and is exploring his own ideas/options on how he proceeds. So probably more legal paperwork makes more sense there (even if you trust each other), so that individual interests are explicitly stated beforehand and protected.

I wonder how much money Ian is actually gonna manage to milk out of this. I for sure would not pay one dollar for this. Also, this stalling game he's playing could backfire if he pushes it too far, and people could decide to 'cancel' him if you know what I mean.

Let's see , 4 matches = 20 videos approx (parts 1,2,3, highlights + another analysis). Approx 15k views per video = 20 * 15 * 5 (average $5 per 1000 views) = $1500 just from ads. Other benefits include a very slight increase in subscribers and maybe course purchases.

I don't think Ian will be cancelled at all, quite the opposite, lots of praise for bringing MEP entertainment. I personally don't like his content, style and clickbait, except matchplay videos, but he seems like a nice guy and people like him so he's going to do well for himself.

How is it "stalling"? It takes time to produce such videos if you want a quality product [and I think ET's videos are among the best] and there is probably a backlog so just because the match happened on Day 1 does not mean the video will be published that evening.

The doubles match that's currently the most recently uploaded probably happened weeks ago.

The vast majority will not pay one dollar for this. But the potentially increased traffic will generate ad revenue and other benefits.

Now, if he announces that he was just kidding, that the match won't happen until July, that will turn some people off, never to return. But I'm betting the majority would still tune in come July.

No one is going to "cancel" Ian. He is not political at all. LMAO.

The fact that it took so long in post production, I am guessing Ian needs to find ways to spin why he lost. I'm actually more interested in how Mark Sansait does against GSG.

Nah, it's normal for Ian to take 4 to 5 weeks to release videos. He said on one of the livestreams that he has a massive backlog of videos.

We salute Ian for making $$$ off this drama. We love capitalism.

But Ian should be up front that the match has already been played and that he is now in the process of posting it.

It has already been several months. Continually teasing and implying that the match has not been played yet is just annoying and tacky.

Until the middle of last week, Ian from ET has consistently said "the match will be played a lot sooner than we think". Since the last weekend, he says "stay tuned" and the videos "may be" published in a few weeks time.

Why? He's never done that with any of the other matches that were played on the ET court.

It has already been several months.

From when he sprained his ankle, yes. But between rehab and then trying to reschedule, I can see how it might take a while.

From what I gathered from what GSG posted, it happened last week. But I have no first-hand knowledge.

Continually teasing and implying that the match has not been played yet is just annoying and tacky.

Where did he imply the match hadn't been played yet?

A lot of assuming with negative undertones have recently popped up on this thread and we know what happens when people assume. Maybe it’s lockdown, stressing people out.

He only played the match recently. It takes weeks to edit and produce a video. Imagine this buzz for a video that has not even been released yet.

Well I think it will be just like any other youtube video. Let's not get carried away with the profits for Ian though. You can do a cooking response video and get like 1 million views. Ian will be lucky to get 50k a video..

Is GSG getting a cut of the Youtube revenue? He deserves it.

My prediction is Ian wins 6-2, 6-1.

If Ian plays for real, and not to promote his own YouTube channel, it will not be close.

Ian just said match is gonna be posted in around 3 weeks on live stream.

If Topher really did beat MEP in straights it doesn't look good for MEP/GSG.

I thought in that video he said 3 weeks from today, and that video was posted live 2hrs ago it seems. I am confused.. I thought the MEP match was done, but according to this video it is 3 weeks from today.

he won the match.

The video of the (already played) match will be published in 3 weeks. Ian is desperately building up the drama right now.

I liked the video, but he’d get more credit for ‘putting his player self on the line’ if he had posted it before the match.

The only thing missing is a picture of him praying before the match, like this

Oooooh I'm so scared for Ian. Biting my nails off.

^The fact that he published this video with all the dramatic "must win" talk _after_ having actually played MEP means he won the match.

I didn't watch his latest live stream video so is he pretending this match hasn't taken place? Screw all the drama. I'm gonna go watch some old Iracer3 matches.

Ian in his own words about this being a "must win" with his career riding on it nonsense

Maybe some kamp and ham is what this spectacle, I mean, sport, needs as a shot in the arm. Ian could be like the guy who hosts Iron Chef, with the Cape and gloves, hosting ridiculous tennis matches where WHO IS GONNA WIN!

God knows the pro players aren't allowed to show any personality or emotions or opinions whatsoever, which is helping kill the sport

Congratulations to Ian for the win!
And congratulations to him for making the most of the MEP phenomenon to benefit his business. No wonder he offered to pay for MEP's trip to Wisconsin. Makes sense.

He lost. My friend Dave knows someone who was there. It was close but Ian was flustered and lost, high deep lobs to his forehand killed him. Things got ugly when Ian started hooking calls openly. so GSG drank ALL the complementary gatorade, then took a toilet break and pi*ssed all over the toilet seat and floor before leaving. And took all the towels and little handsoaps and shampoos.

No, Ian finally acknowledged the match has already happened. It takes a couple of days max to edit the video.

It does not justify a three week delay. That is ridiculous.

That is completely false.

Only Powerade was provided
