Ok, I have hit with the New Graphite 100, Prince sent one to my coach. I normally use the Graphite Oversize. I only got to hit with it for a few minutes, but I really was not impressed. It had a lot more power than any of the old Graphites, and it still had that muted feel of the O3's of old.

I love the muted feel and the O ports.
Is this your opinion based on how you don't like the feel?
What would you think if you liked to O ports?

i mean it's personal preference, i was in your shoes with the SPT before i switched to the KBT.

Is there ever a racquet introduced between 11 and 11.5 ounces that isn't seen as an "attack on Babolat"? People said this when the "carnival paint" Surge was released years ago, and many times since. Suffice it to say that 100 sq.in. racquets in that weight class are now commonplace and popular, and the province of no particular manufacturer.

I think part of it has to do with head shape and beam width too.

How will stringing be tough? The Rebel's 18x20 pattern, or the speedports? It's going to be a 2 piece string job, so you can use a 50-50 pattern to counteract the trouble with the ports. How would these be any more difficult to string than the current O3's? Also, I think a lot of players will use the string hole set up, which makes them like stringing a normal stick.

They are not hard at all.. I just strung up a Rebel and Rebel Team for the prince rep and using the string holes they are just like any other racquet.

Hey guys. Got to check out the new sticks today...total of 6 new racquets coming out in early 2009: the EXO3 Graphites, Rebels, Silver, and Red. The Silver and Red both have the new tech (energy channel and energy bridge). The Graphite and the Rebel do not have this tech (just more material in the ported areas of the racquet to address the lack of stability in the past player's models). I'll post specs in my next post.

These specs are completely different then the ones I posted when the rackets were introduced in Japan a few months ago.

So they truly are making them heavier for the US market, very interesting. 20 grams is quite a bit of weight to add.

Themitchmann,

did you get a chance to see if the Rebel's head shape is more oblong like Head and Dunlop rackets, or is it circular like Prince rackets of old?

Also the unstrung balance is quite head light unstrung for the Rebel 95. When strung it may be 10 to 11 points headlight which seems high for a players stick.

The Rebels are more oblong for sure. The Graphite are pretty much identical to their predecessors in terms of head shape. And I agree the Rebel's balance is a little odd. I think they wanted to allow some room for customization.

I got to hit with three of the racquets today (Graphite 100, and both rebels, my my co-worker wanted to try out the mid :???:). Anyways I ended up really liking the rebel TEAM 95. It felt incredibly solid for such a light racquet, and I was generating crazy racquet head speed. Did anyone else feel this way?

Thanks for the updated specs. The rebel 95 seems quite hefty but with that balance I don't think it would be to hard to handle for an advanced player.

Also the graphite's are quite stiff, I wonder why the rebels were not made as stiff?

Very true, and the massive holes in the top of the frame also decrease the weight in the head of the racket as well.

I really want to have a hit with the new rebel, especially now since the US specs are heavier. It may be a solid hit right out of the box. I prefer balances between 5 and 7, but this might work due to the high static weight.

Thanks for the quick review kaiba.

Does the rebel team also have an 18x20 string pattern?

Yup the team also has an 18X20 pattern. I'm probly gonna try the stick for a few more days, and maybe try the graphite100 again. I didn't really give it a fair run as I was too interested in the rebel team.:-?

so there is an american version with 330 g and an asian version with 310g of the exo rebel .
do they both have the same stiffness and the same swingweight ?
are there any shops where i could order an asian exo rebel when they are available ?
thanks

played with a top Aussie junior(visiting calif.) who had a new prince model, but was still black and experimental logoed and it was a longbody version of the exo 100 nice stick, so expect that also.....

the weights listed for the rebels and the graphites are wrong. for instance the rebel 95 unstrung weight is 330G not 310 and the graphite 100 is 315G not 310.

That's because the specs on here were from the Japanese site...now that the sticks have made their way to the states, and we've gotten to check them out in person, we've realized that the US specs are different than the Asian models. This thread has been going for a while now...

Chauvalito did a great job running this thread and the specs were up to date as soon as we got to examine the US sticks.
