Hm, well, thats how good Edberg was, when he played Muster he didnt even allowed Muster to take time for a toilet-break, he attacked everything.

Yup, I remember the funny Fed-Hrbaty match at Wimby, when Dom sat right beside Rog in one changeover. Did you double-check those stats?

You didn't get it.We are talking about loopsided h2h but about less talented players having a better h2h over the more talented ones.

Agassi had trouble controlling it. Even prime fed would have trouble controlling enqvist.

Agassi only had trouble controlling Enqvist until he realized that Enqvist's running FH was FAR weaker than his stationary FH...then he started owning Enqvist.

Prime Fed would run Enqvist around and eventually start dominating their H2H.

Sampras 16-4 over Courier.

That's not too surprising, though. Courier could get served off the court, and Sampras would always find a way to crack open a long rally on a big point with his running FH (1st set of 93 Wimbledon final is classic example of this).

Basically after 91, Sampras owned Courier everywhere, especially in slams:
92 US Open SF
93 Wimbledon F
94 Aus Open SF
95 Aus Open QF
95 US Open SF
96 French QF

only exception was 94 French QF

it took her some time but at last she did it... ;)

some other surprising (or not ?!) H2H:
  • dosedel-courier 4-1
  • goellner-edberg 3-1
  • berasategui-kafelnikov 5-0 (not even a single set for kafel !)
  • agenor-stich 3-1

Wow those are weird..well the Kafelnikov one is, and so is the Courier one a little bit.

Some other weird womens ones I found for Amy Frazier

against Sanchez Vicario she is 4-3
against Pierce she is 4-3
against Shriver she is 4-1
against Henin she is 2-1

when I think of Frazier I think of like...40 first round slam losses..than I saw these and was sort of surprised. Granted she has really bad H2H's against a lot of people..which makes these a bit weirder.

Thats not surprising at all. Sampras >>>>>Courier

It is surprising considering Courier was a better player than Sampras up until 1993 and even about equal a player to him in 2003. You would think Courier would have ratched up alot more than 4 wins during those years anyway.

Sampras vs Courier

Another poster has noted this before : their head to head is slightly misleading. If you were watching their matches in the 90's or if you look closely at their match scores, you will see LOTS of hard fought 7-6's 7-5's, 6-4's sets. It just turned out that Pete was able to gain the upper hand on Courier. Also, look at the surfaces they were playing on.
