Tacky grips??

What are some of the tackiest replacements grips out there? Just need something sticky but doesn't have to be glued to my hand.

I've tried a couple but they don't last that long.

I've heard some good things about the Gamma Hi-Tech Grip. I've tried the Gamma Hi-Tech Contour Grip, which is basically the Hi-Tech Grip with contours, and the tackiness lasts longer than any other replacement grips I've tried (Prince DuraPro+, Babolat Syntec, Dunlop Hydramax Tour)

You should try a tacky overgrip, IMO. Gamma Supreme, Gamma Dermagrip, Gamma Grip II, Prince Duratac, Yonex Super grap and Dunlop Hydratac are all tacky grips worth trying. I think the tack on overgrips last longer than on replacement grips. After about 5 or so matches, the tack is just gone on the replacement grips for me... it feels dry. Overgrips maintain tack better IMO and can last for about 3 weeks to a month and still be tacky (Yonex Super Grap).

Wilson Pro Overgrip or Yonex Super Grap, end of discussion. If you want something thinner, go with Wilson Pro Overgrip Perforated.

I like the Wilson Pro and Yonex Supergrap, but I wouldn't say they were "tacky". They are more absorbent than most tacky grips though. As for tacky, I'd say Prince DuraTac or DuraTred, Technifibre Contact, or Pro Supex tacky.

I've always like the Wilson Pro, last week I started trying an overgrip by a new company called Mantis that I really like. I find it has the comfort of my Wilson pro but a little more tacky.

I'd reccomend Prince Resi Pro replacement grips. They are very comfortable and tacky. I've gotten many of our store's customers to make the switch, and they all love it.

Tournagrip Whites are awesome - thats all I use unless it is really hot. Very comfortable, almost luxurious, but very solid grip.

Tournagrip Original if it gets hot and you sweat alot.

No, I'm not a Tournagrip who re - they just happen to make the best grips for your buck.

Wilson Pros and Yonex are spongy, don't last and will tear up your skin bad.

Tacky overgrips and Tourna grip in the same sentence is JUST PLAIN WRONG !

Tourna grips are for sweaters, all of them.

If you want tacky get Gamma Supreme White overgrip and forget about Tourna (any of the models), forget about Wilson Pro, forget about BABOLAT VS & forget about Yonex Supergrap.

Gamma Supreme overgrips also happen to stay tacky for muchlonger than any other overgrip out there.
BUT IF YOU DO SWEAT - do NOT buy Gamma Supreme, because you will have trouble holding on to your racquet.

I use Yonex Supergrap during the summer period, and if I play in rain weather, because Gamma Supreme is useless in these conditons. However Gamma Supreme is PERFECT for my drys hands during the cold indoor season and in Spring and Autumn, when sweatty hands is a thing of the past or future to come.

Nvmnd all that - try this:

http://www.amazon.com/Prince-7H921000080-Grip-Enhancer/dp/B001M4HWQI

This is non-sticky grip enhancer like what gymnists use, except it comes as a creme that just dries off in a few seconds on your hands for even distribution.

Yes this grip is nice too - but if you play alot replacement grips will get costly.

There's probably a bundle of discussions on tacky grips in the "Other Equipment" forum here, too just in case you haven't looked in there yet.

OP - Any reason you need a really tacky replacement grip instead of overgrips? I'm pretty sure that anything that's really tacky will loose that extra "grippiness" after it gets a bit dirty. A good tacky overgrip might be the less expensive option if you need to routinely replace it.

One of my good friends has tried that Princegrip Plus and it worked really well. Too good for me actually - I prefer only medium tackiness.

Try the MANTIS Performa Tac overgrips.
They have a good level of tack and are soft but durable. They are also excellent value for money!

Yonex Super Grap is definitely the best! Pretty cheap and has decent durability. It also comes in pretty much all colors, if you're into that

I prefer tacky grips and the tackiest that I've found are Prince Duratred and Prince Microtac. I was a Duratred user for years, but the later versions made by Prince were "plasticky" feeling so I switched to Microtac. It is just as tacky and is very long lasting.

Supreme is a pain in the @ss to put on. It needs to be stretched a lot to keep it flush with the handle.

On which racquet?

It doesnt have the adhesive part that most overgrips have to start with but Ive had no trouble at all with it.

Maybe Im just used to stretching it tight anyway, I usually need to apply extra force for when I go from running it along to the edge of the butt cap to pulling it diagonally up the handle. Adhesive or not if you dont do that any overgrip will come unravelled at that spot or will slip because nothing is holding it down otherwise all the way around the buttcap.

I did notice the finishing tape is kind of "upside down". I use the small separate part of the backing to stretch the last end of the finishing tape and break it off. So I usually just hold the racquet head up (instead of handle up) when I put the finishing tape on. (because I usually go from left to right as Im right handed)

Well, compared to supergrap or wilson pro for example, it is a lot harder to put on. Like you say, maybe you dont feel its too hard to put cause youre used to stretch them, but I dont. Ive been using supergrap, wilson pro and similar overgrips that almost dont need to be stretched to keep them flush, but then I try to put a supreme on and I need to stretch the hell out of it.

Right, well works fine for me. Dont get me wrong, I dont stretch the whole thing, just during the part where I start to pull it on a diagonal after wrapping it the first time to keep it flush.

Even if it didnt, it sure is a lot more tacky then wilson pro or supergrap.

Wilson Pro used to seem tacky, but lately it isnt, I touch it and it loses it tackiness.

I'd been trying Yonex Super Grap, but found that's it's too tacky for me. It's not too bad initially, but after a couple of sessions, it gets to be too much. It's tearing up my hands a bit. Going back to Wilson I think.

Agree with you that is is far more tackier than supergrap or pro. I dont know any other overgrip that comes close in terms of tackiness to supreme.
Also, IMO the new wilson pros are crap. They dont last long and its tackiness goes away as soon as you start sweating.
