, i should rephrase, not all american brewers are especially p*ss weak. The aformentioned brands are (Bud, Miller, Coors that is). Its just a shame LTP cannot obtain many of the brands and brews that we mention in the thread due to your location.

Going to try and limit IPA consumption more this year. We'll see how long that New Year's resolution lasts.
Why limit something that gives you so much joy? Look, I had to sit through 'Julie and Julia' with the wife this weekend. Julia Child lived to be 90 and her husband 92. They ate rich French food and drank red wine every day. They also smoked. The two were apparently very much in love, as well. I wanna go out like that...quality vs. quantity or maybe quality+quantity, if I'm lucky. Seems like we're all in that gray area in terms of drinks per day. I can have 2/day for sure and if I stretch it to 3-4 some days, I figure all is well. As for calories, I'd rather have my 2 IPA's than dessert anyday.
That's my logic...I'm ~6'3", 225#, so I figure amounts need to be adjusted upward, just like you adjust meds, etc., downward for kids/smaller people. I figure if the average guy can have 2 drinks, a slightly larger guy can have at least 3 with the same outcome.
) Had my first Dogfish Head 90 Minute IPA last night at dinner. I probably wouldn't have thought to order it had it not been for this thread, so, viva Talk Tennis (!) once again. I thought it was a very good beer. Right on the edge of having "too much good stuff". It's about as intense a brew that I can take multiple servings of. Any more intense than that and I'm one and done.

Had ice cream last night versus a few IPAs. Got to have something in the evenings but man I sleep much better with those IPAs versus the sugar rush.

BTW, my favorite beer at the moment is New Glarus Spotted Cow. Can anyone suggest a similar that has greater availability? I'm also a fan of the Bell's selections (for provincial/sentimental reasons as much as taste).
No, not a Cheesehead here. An FIB. My bro-in-law hooked me up with 12 last week when he came back from a job in the north woods. The other times I had it were when I went skiing and I was somewhat distraught upon my return home to learn that it was not available outside of WI. That's why I'm looking for something similar, with a wider distribution. Next time I slip behind the Cheddar Curtain, I'm loading up the trunk.

It's good (much better than Hop Wallop IMO), but under some of the top tier IPA's. Of course I believe I get kind of spoiled with having easy access to Surly Furious and Town Hall Masala Mama.

Tonight on my way to the liquor store, I found an incredible deal. Great Divide bombers on clearance for $1.99. :shock: This included the Wood Aged IIPA, Tripel, Smoked Baltic Porter, Dunkel Weiss, and Double Wit. I stocked up on the first 3, and didn't get the last 2 styles since they don't interest me that much. I think these are normally priced at around $8 or so.
On top of it, the place gave me an extra 10% off my bill.
When I first saw the $1.99, I pretty much did a double take.
