G.O.A.T.
That was 3 straight serves down the middle on the ad side and robredo hit terrible returns on all 3. come on tommy you should have picked one of those off.

God Fed sucks today. I hope he can finish this and get better from here. He looks to be in 2008 non-slam Federer form. Like short backhand, short backhand, forcing forehand, slice, backhand shank. Rinse and repeat.

Don't you agree, nikdom?

Its hard to argue a hypothetical. Part of today's "cpllapse" is really a loss of focus. He played great against Malisse. As for the Simon match, I think now it had more to do with Simon than with a specific strategy against Roger.

Will Roger have a hard time against Djoko? Sure. I would've said that regardless of today or the simon match. Do I think Roger will win easily on his way to a potential final? no. Beyond that, right now its hard to speculate by putting today's 2nd set play into a hypothetical semi match up.

That's why I said sure whatever.

The court. And according to Cahill the balls are heavier.Excellent.That's exactly what the game needed...NOT
Even Roddick's said the court is playing slower than ever.

Conspiracy in Nadal's favor. Nothing new. Nike is behind this. LOL

I guess we really disagree then. I'm not saying that it's not somewhat slow but to me that is the way it should be. I don't like watching or playing of fast courts. Nothing is as good as a nice gritty hardcourt that takes spin really well. I think that it's good that they have slowed things down some to have longer rallies and longer points. S&V is dead and not coming back, fortunately.

I think it has more to do with the balls. At times you could actually see the fluff fly all over the place like dust. It was quite a disturbing sight to say the least.

I know it's wrong thread but Berdych is playing out of his mind. If he plays Djoker I think Berdych will take him out.

I thought I would never say something like this, but this match is looking like a clay match for god's sake.

yeah, seriously

fed needs to pick up his level ... he's shanking quite a bit

edit: nice volley there , his net play atleast has been good

They are fluffy because the court is really gritty. Lots of sand in the painted top surface. That make the ball take spin that much better and keeps it from flying as fast. I love it.

You're different than most people here. I highly disagree with you, in that faster surfaces will give more variety. But to each his own

Fed's aggresive tactics will be his own undoing in the end against Nadal or Berdych/Djokovic. UE:Winners is to even. Hope he dials it back and goes for placement rather than power.

Yep to each his own indeed. I love clay and a really gritty hard court. Maybe it's just my style but a fast court where the ball skids is just lame to me. I guess I just don't understand why so many here like fast courts.

Welcome to Shanksville. Population 2.
This may be nothing but have you ever seen Nadal twist an spin his racket while waiting to hit the ball (either in serve or return) no never.

Smetimes I wonder if Fed's endless axis-spinning of the racket in his hands doesn't add to the shanking
