This match is just a mere warm-up that will precede the great Berankis - Becker slugfest commentated by the one and only (since last night) Ken "yeah I commentate like I'm on the radio" Thomas.

Well, they both have such great stories, it will certainly be epic. Lots of lemonade will be consumed. :)

Dimitrov looks like he has no game plan when he plays. He engages in baseline rallies without any semblance of point construction or what he wants to achieve. Sometimes he hits hard, sometimes he lets up, sometimes he goes cross court, sometimes down the line, but it’s just random. He hits a hard shot and it garners a weak reply, but instead of coming into the net and putting the ball away he lets Tsonga get back into the rally. Or sometimes he’ll come in off a pointless shot that begs Tsonga to pass him. He also misses the easiest shots which costs him games and matches. Almost like he gives up on points when they’re not going his way. I really don’t know wtf his coach is doing.

I understand where you're coming from but I think you're being a little harsh. His apparent lack of point construction I think is mainly due to lack of experience against top opponents--he played mostly challengers/futures last year. Tsonga was playing well, and the fact that Dimitrov was able to keep the scoreline fairly competitive is a good sign.

Really entertaining match between Mika and Jo. Of course not the usual baseline bashing that we see mostly on the tour today.
