My favorite tension with this string was 0 pounds when it broke and I didn't have to use it anymore.
mikeler,
I'm glad you replied. Just today I was going through your multi thread. Only on page 30, but plan on getting through it all.
I wanted to ask you for your thoughts.
I just got the gosen strung today 17g, and all I had been using since picking tennis back up is the PSGD 17g. (when I played HS tennis 15+ years ago I also only strung with Prince synthetic although I don't think duraflex existed back then)
From where I have read up to on your thread you were really loving the Mantis Comfort, RIP, and Dunlop Hex.
How do the two synthetics I mentioned compare? I don't have any arm issues like you and I don't have any reference as to what soft means since I know PSGD is a pretty stiff string. I don't hit with a ton of topspin, outside of what is generated by my normal stroke.
Overall I think the PSGD is ok, but again I don't have any other reference. My main issue with it is that I can't seem to generate much spin and that everyone once in a while, a seemingly well hit ball will just go out by alot. (I'm guessing this is what people call the trampoline effect.)
Also I noticed that your top multis are called low powered by you. When I look at the TW learning center string comparison, it seems like the PSGD is even lower powered. So I'm wondering, does that mean the the multis you like are actually higher powered when compared to PSGD? (I string an OS at 65 by the way) Or is this a case where the test numbers don't really tell the true story?
I'm wondering if any of the multis you like can a)help me generate more spin if I need to and b) eliminate the trampoline effect.
Thanks
