Anyone else think these ATP photo op things are kinda lame? I mean they always just set up some kids net somewhere and just have the players half ass a few volleys to each other and call it tennis.
How about making the court big enough so the players can actually move and use their skills? May as well be me and vive le beau jeu ! out there gently volleying to each other

it's just for fun... i think people enjoy to see the players playing in the street, even it's not even a decent court. and maybe this kinda demonstration can also bring some additional spectators to the tournaments ?

Yeah I get that its all about publicity, but I think it would be cool and a much more exciting spectacle to see the players actually playing properly out in public somewhere.
Like the Soderling/Baghdatis pic. It looks like theres enough room for them to set up even just a half court big enough to get them to hit some full blown groundstrokes or maybe crack a few serves at each other. Anyway, just my opinion
I think im just hoping to see that Sampras/Agassi guerrila tennis tv commercial re-enacted in real life sometime haha

Those courts look depressingly drab....like something you'd see in a low-security prison.

They are ancient--built by William Randolph Hearst at is castle, San Simeon in California. During the 1920s and 1930s, all of the Hollywood stars came to San Simeon and would have played on those courts. There is an indoor pool beneath them. Although the courts are drab, the view is amazing--you can see mountains, the pacific, and of course the rest of the Hearst Castle.

Na, those are lower Dollar Point courts in Tahoe City (6200 ft). I have played up at High Camp (8200 ft) though and its pretty awesome and very lively.

i remember an exhibition with noah and other players played on a black court with white lines... but i didn't find any pictures, unfortunately !

Located at Hyde St and Greenwich St. in SF. You can even take the cable car up there. Great view but not so great when it's foggy or windy (impossible to play). The court surface is slow and has odd bounces but easy on the joints. I played there for many years.

How was the Four Seasons in Nevis? My wife and I are planning a long weekend this spring. We went to St Lucia (Ladera) last year and loved it. We might go back, but we're also looking at Nevis and Petite St. Vincent. I'm sure the Four Seasons is top notch, but I'm wondering about the natural beauty of the area and also the ease of getting in and out. We have young kids, so we can only go for a couple of days.

My fam and another fam were there last month.
We were walking along the coast in Miraflores and saw that beautiful red clay club. walked near that shopping place and theres another awesome club.

No, it was a few yrs ago - AA had a sale - $440 roundtrip from LA! Pretty cool that there are two facilities so close together. I check AA every so often to see if they are having sales - definitely going back.

we had a nice view on this court in gaudissard (1830 m) in the queyras (hautes-alpes), with the pic de rochebrune (3320 m), which is close to the famous izoard pass, in the background.
(this made up for the state of the court and the antique rackets that were available)

What is the altitude there? The air has to be thin.
The red court/green outer brought back memories. That combo was popular back in the day in the US.
