Dats - Sounds like my kind of basketball game, haha. And as far as your secret restaurant goes... the last time you recommended a place and we went, a rat jumped up on the table and went all Ratatouille on us.

oddly enough it is much harder for me to learn a knot from watching it tied

i have a much easier time w/ verbal steps

since my days in boy scouts

i could learn them, just not from pictures

i have an electric pull stringer so i like to give myself the lux of having the stringer doing the pull. i use a clamp to hold the tensioned end of the string and leave the knot end slightly longer. i then use the longer string to loop through the arm of the stringing machine.. crank on 2 additional lbs and pull and knot... perfect knot every time.

You go over the main
under the main
Through the loop
Over the main
under the main
Through both loops

You have to pull the inside (first loop) to get it tight. If you simply pull the end of string you will end up with alot of slack you cant get rid of. By pulling the inner (first) loop you can get it alot snugger. Then pull the outside (last) loop which is the end of the string to fisnish up.

This has a few pictures to get a little better understanding what Im talking about.

hollywood that's perfect! that's exactly the kind of explanation that works for me!

That will be 6-pack of Moretti La Rossa for services rendered.

Payable at some point in the future. You better not be like TFM (god rest his soul) 1978 and bilch on bets that you never won in the first place.

For the record TFM (god rest his soul) 1978 does pay up his bets when said bets are won.

TFM (GRHS)1978 - you can serve 110 MPH that faster than you think
Me - after numerous blastings of serves with no gun readout becuase my girth was blocking the gun finally hit 127 "Beer please"
TFM (GRHS)1978 - eventually paid for said beer, or got someone to buy it for him and he gave it me.

I dont know.

Anyway Moretti La Rossa 6-Pack from you or someonne representing you. To me.

Zap has been known to over bay for Boars Head hot dogs so maybe you can trade him some hot dogs for some Moretti La Rossas and give them to me.

On the other hand I dont want beer Zap traded for hot dogs.

Enjoy your knots.

the yelp reviews for secret mexican place aren't great for some reason.
but they are from a bunch of courthouse yuppies that get scared when
they enter "the real deal". im talkin drunk sombrero wearin mexicans hunched over in the corner with a bottle of tequila. muchachas wearing
tons of makeup and not much for clothes working it for tips.
real deal my amigos... real deal.
jwoww goes there with me and always gets the "lomo saltado". i think that might be spanish for "rat meat in ketchup" but she likes it!

the food is bueno yo! cmon... i know its no 100yr grease burger
but the TWMAC invasion of this place would be so classic.
Sap needs to bring GOPRO vidcam and Zapvor and HW attendance is
mandatory!
JRK can grow a beard and wear babyR in a bjorn for full effect.
we drink cervezas and pound enchiladas... or vice versa.

JRK.. we're goin back to kenmore middle school on thursday for more
horrible basketball. be there at 6pm and plz bring a trunk full of weapons...

planning to go to American History Muesum morrow during lunchtime heard they have an exhibit on Julia Child. Her famous kitchen where she hosted her show is there. I saw an pic of her kitchen, its pretty impressive for a 60’s home, actually, its impressive even for today's standards.

sap - you don't need new shoes. you need to lose weight. but you need new shoes so you can lose weight. it's a conundrum. also when you jog it looks like the stay puft marshmallow man destroying new york city in slow motion.

dats - i wanna crush some tennis balls with you and try out that dirty mexican joint. it sounds like all my old girlfriends - cheap and non-english speaking.

yeah i need to lose alot of weight too. Saw the foot doc. That is what he said too that's impairing the healing of my knee.

I need some regiment. I've pretty much cut carbs out of my diet except for a small bowl of rice at night. Bad part is that it's really zapping my energy. Need some advice from folks that's had a successful weight reduction program. Heard calcium really helps to curb hunger so drinking fat free milk in the AM and eating costco fat free greek yogurt as well. Chipotle runs are salad, beans, and chicken. Wonder if Chik Fila has a chicken sandwich, "animal style"

In my slimmer wookie days, I basically upped my veggie intake (fiber and water in fresh veggies helped me feel full), added more beans to my diet, stuck to chicken and fish mostly, and kept the carbs but reduced the amount.

I also added a cheat meal once a week to keep from going crazy. Paired that with 2-3 days of exercise every week and that seemed to work pretty well.

IMHO - not a big fan of some of the fat-free yogurts as they tend to just replace fat by adding a ton of sugar.

The in-laws were visiting and staying in Shirlington so we went to dinner at Guapos. I was tempted to tell the waiter that it was my father-in-law's birthday just so they'd come out and sing to him.

<sigh> It wouldn't have been that funny though.

thanks for the tip. Not a big fan of diary products.

That's another thing i was thinking about doing. Just grill veggies and chicken on Sundays for the rest of the week's lunch. Supplement carbs for beans, I think I have a plan going.

btw, coffee w/o sugar sucks goat ash'es. still trying to get used to.

i used to go to the tapas place around the corner there for happy hour. Is the Capital Brewery still there? It's one of them microbrew bar/restaurants.

I remember Guapo lunch buffets.. that was the only place where they have faita buffets. And best of all, they have a cook there in front of me heating it up on a griddle.

Sappy got me to switch over to splenda. I don't really notice the difference. In fact splenda is significantly sweeter than sugar.

can't handle splenda. it's got that intense sweet taste to it. Have you tried Truvia? I heard it's alittle better.
But I've tried agave as well, but not impressed. I heard it has a lower glycemic index. But that's good for diabetics not dieters.

Up your intake of water throughout the day. In addition to making you feel full, the water will help neutralize the hydrochloric acid in your stomach. When you feel hungry, down a huge cup of water first.

Haven't tried truvia or agave. I have a sweet tooth so 1 packet of splenda beats dumping 5 packets of sugar for me.

i lost 22 pounds in a month. went from 172 pounds to 150 pounds.

ran 3 miles a day about 5-6 times a week. drank a naked juice or had cereal with fat free milk for breakfast. had a naked juice or salad for lunch. snack was fruit - apple or banana usually. dinner i ate whatever i wanted - pizza, fast food, whatever. but nothing to else eat after dinner. no second dinner or snack while watching tv.

by the second week i noticed that at dinner time, even if i wanted to gorge myself, my stomach was much smaller. got full much faster with half the food.

two truths:
1 - take in less calories than you burn off. you will lose weight.
2 - dieting and exercising sucks.

what's for lunch people?

Truvia rocks. I use it every day in my coffee with some generic creamer (10 cals, nothing but crap). Id like to cut the creamer out at some point. I use Agave in place of sugar in cooking, but it would make a great coffee sweetener too. It is not calorie free however.

thanks all. So conclusion is:
Truvia: Rocks but expensive.
Splenda: 5 to 1 ratio.
Agave: Fake Sugar syrup w/ all the calories.
Sugar: Many try to imitate but none has succeeded. But don't expect a slim version of this stuff.

When you say you've cut carbs, what do you mean? Because veggies are carbs, and you should eat a lot of them. Quit with the fat free stuff...it isn't real food.

Stay away from added sugars. Which...is way easier said than done. Read labels.

Eat real food. No processed crap.

anyone try the paleo diet before?

Yes. My older sister is paleo, and I've dabbled. Though, I do tend to eat clean, just too much! Haha! And I don't sleep regularly, so that hurts me too.

Last time I was able to lose, I ate clean and counted calories. Probably too obsessive for you guys, but it seems to be the only thing that works for me.

concluded I like playing with 17g syn gut with this stick. Also, i took the stick out for a total of only 4x for 4 hours total. Playing with a crippled leg sucks.

didn't like the first stringjob with rip 17g natural. thought I didn't have the feel i was looking for and it was really comfortable to hit with. So i put in Hexy Fiber 17g. good feel now, just wish the string won't break as easily.
