We want HEAD PT630 CAP

After the talk in the Head PC600 reissue-thread it´s time we get serious about helping TW find out the interest for a batch of reissue Pro Tour 630 CAP.

Last time the PC600 was reissued the price was from what i remember around 150 $, so we imagine the price will be around 150-170 $ for a PT630 CAP reissue as well.

How many frames would you buy if TW today announced they will bring the PT630 CAP back? And please be serious about this and only post if you have a genuine interest.

If specs/composition are very similar to PT280/630, I'd buy 3 straight away. I tend to think that a capped version will be infinitely more popular!

3 in 4 1/4 for me, where do I sign?

Count me in. I'll take between 6 and 8 if it is made with the same materials as they were in Austria. Graphite and Twaron.

A re-issue would never be the same as the old 280/630. You would be better off buying one on the auction site and capping it. You can still get used Pro Tours in very good condition for $150 or so. I would much rather have the genuine article than a re-issue myself. Re-issues are never as good because too much has changed (the resin system for one.) Head would probably just take one of the current rackets and give it a PT paint job.

Even with current resins and graphite the Pro Tour 630 will still play better than what is offered in the current line up. I have played with newly minted Prestige Classic 600 made with modern resin and graphite and it played correctly.

I will buy few L4 only if they will be 1-2pts more HL.. same spec but around 8pts HL.

It's going to be hard enough to bring them back as is, let alone with people requesting modifications to the standard specs. Especially one that would just require a little lead wrapped around the buttcap.

I'd definitely get 3-5 in L2 grip, depending on the price:)

But, as stated above, only if they had CAP grommets and Twaron in their composition.

I'd go for 3 in L4 as long as they're available in TWE. Don't really want to import them from TW USA due to taxes.

I will take at at least a couple if it is the same frame, but unfortunately there is almost zero chance of having twaron composition in the reissue..

I wont lie, if it's a 16x19, I'd give it a demo and if I liked it, I'd buy a couple. But if it ever does come back and it could only be one string pattern, I'd rather it be an 18x20 so all the true pt630 fans could buy some to play with.

If it is a 16 x 19, it isn't a Pro Tour 280/630.

Not much incentive for Head (or TW) to do this from a business perspective. They will just be robbing sales from their other players rackets. But, keep dreaming. :)

Who knows? Since the 20th anniversary of the frame's introduction will be arriving soon, maybe they will re-paint an existing frame blue and sell it as an anniversary edition. Perhaps, what they should do, is market them as PT57's for consumers and sell them for $500+ a pop. But, again they would just be cannibaliizing sales of the existing players racket line so what do they really gain?

BTW, high modulus Twaron (aramid fiber same a Kevlar) is still readily available. I have plenty of old flexible graphite frames that feel great and have no aramid fiber at all. You guys do understand marketing, right? Kevlar and Twaron are like so 20 years ago marketing-wise. It would have to be AeroBioBLXNanoAirGelSuperDuperTwaron nowadays .:)

While I don't disagree with you, I think that if TW were to be able to bring an order of enough units (which, if they were certain they could sell them all, I'm sure they would try), I would think that Head would look at something, similar to what Wilson did for the PS 6.0 RI earlier this year or last year. I think that if Head were going to do it, TW has enough bargaining power to make it happen.

I again disagree with you. A Pro Tour 630 could have a 16x19 string pattern. A guy by the name of Andy uses one to great affect right now. Doing a SMU for TW will not cannibalize anything. There is a anniversary Prestige MP coming out in the fall paint black and silver. Sounds like that is what you want.
HEAD started using Twaron exactly 26 years ago and Kevlar was 30 years ago for racquets with Kneissl.

One of the defining characteristics of the PT280/630 was its control oriented 18x20 pattern. A 16x19 is a different animal. Doesn't mean it would not be an interesting frame though. :)

Was the Electra the first Twaron racket?

The first Twaron Racquet was the Prestige Pro for EU and TXP for USA. Same racquet different name and different paint for the different markets. They did that a lot back in the day.

PT630 CAP - My 1st post

Have shopped with TW and surfed TT for years, never felt a need to post a reply until now...

I will certainly get at least 2 PT630 in grip size 2. Country of origin is not important; specs and QC are.

Chris et al. in TW and HEAD please hear us.

hey, maybe carry around a notepad and start asking people there if they a reissue also, like a petition. Hey, maybe you can even get some pro's or ex-pros on the list ;)

I really hope this happens. I'm super excited about the possibility, and I honestly think lots of people are. (plus I believe that a capped 630 reissue is a much more usable racket for today's tennis than the PS85 is, and look how popular it is)

I just updated this thread. I´m sure we can get many more names, but still TW, there is quit a few names and frames to be sold here, and now we are just scratching the surface a tiny bit.

Lets go!! Press that order button Chris and Co!

I would be in for at least 2 in 4-3/8's. What would be great is if they could make them lighter (like a pro stock) so we could weight them up to our specs a little easier.

I would buy at least two of the 600 and four of the 630 in either 3/8 or 1/2 grip depending on the specs.
