Djokovic 2018-2023 vs Federer 2004-2009

Feds early era was weak. Pigeon Roddick, old Agassi, declined Hewitt, Gonzales, baggy, James Blake, nalbandian, davydenko, henman, etc were not ATGs just decent players. Only agassi was but Fed caught him at the tail end.

I see some Fed fans trying to pump them up to be better but they weren’t. I watched a lot of tennis back then as well as know and Fed wasn’t truly challenged until Youngdal came on the scene.

I've asked this rhetorical question before and I'll ask again...why oh why do Nole fans always mention Baghdatis but not Nadal as 2004-2007 Federer's competition?

And you want to talk weak? 2011-2016 Nadal became a non-factor on grass and at the AO, and was often absent from the US Open. That left peak/prime Nole's competition to be two pigeons who he should've owned and old Federer. But he failed to be a dominant ATG and allowed the two pigeons to win the CGS against him...2014 Australian Open, 2015 Roland Garros, 2013 Wimbledon, and 2012 US Open. Still, Nole not dominating players he should've dominated doesn't make those players stronger.

Past-prime 2018-2023 Nole has been able to dominate because the competition has gotten even worse.

Two 6 year periods, both representing the only time two players have won 12 Slams in 6 years, or 2 Slams per year. The pinnacle of Open Era dominance over the Tour in Grand Slams.

No man has ever won more Slams over any 6 year period than these two.

Nadal had 11 between 2008-2014 which was better than federer or djokovics 12 slams in 6 years as nadal faced peak federer or close to peak federer and djokovic in those years. Federer and djokovic never had two of the big 3 close tompeak in their dominant years above.

Nadal was indeed weak prior to '07 except on clay. It was easy to see how Federer could dominate '04-07.

Well, sorry that Djokovic couldn't dominate every single slam.

'18-19 wasn't weak. '18 WB had Djoko-Nadal; '19 WB had Djoko-Federer. If Federer had won, Fedfans would have called it strong.

Au contraire, it’s telling that Djokovic’s biggest challenges at Wimbledon before Alcaraz finally broke through this year were from the ghosts of rivals past.
