For you i would post video and send you a link. You are a genuinely nice guy. Guys like zappy have malicious intent even though i saw his film and i will keep my thoughts to myself..

LOL malicious intent. yea because asking for video proof is malicious intent.

you heard it here first everyone! ask someone for proof, and it means you are malicious intent!

oh and please feel free to comment on my video. its why i posted it. for everyone to see.

That'd be actually really awesome! Once I get mine up and running I'll definitely send it your way. :D

I watch pretty much every video that gets posted in Tips/Instruction, but often don't comment. I see no need to unless I can offer valid input. (That's the coach coming out in me haha!)

I watch em all for like 15 seconds and hazard a guess as to whether or not I could beat them, then x out the window. :D

LOL! I try not to think like that. I've been served some humble pie recently by players who don't look that good, but play literally a full level above me! (I watched a 5.0 player that still served with a pancake grip, feed bread-sticks to a top end 4.5 player in my club. It was terrifying to watch someone with such "novice" technique literally blow guys off court!)

If you have an iPhone download iSpy and watch the golfing range in Japan.

It's about as exciting as watching 4.0s play tennis.

On my days off I go to Randall's Island and watch 3.5 clinics and pass out cards with this Url directing future 4.0 GOATs to this thread so they may experience it and understand what is at stake as they transcend into rec tennis apocalypse.

I think we all picture our frequent posters, maybe according to what they say, how they argue, what advices they give you and what avatar they have.
Maybe we all should reveal ourselves in pics:twisted:

PS: I definitely didn't imagine Leed with long hair.:)

Nice hitting, you kind of play like Granville

Thanks, there's still a lot to work on. I'm slowly changing my swing pattern on my forehand. I try to make it shorter, more compact but playing for nearly 30 years, took its toll and and those ingrained moves are not easy to erase out of my hard drive.:)

Nice racquet speed, but leaving a lot of easy power on the table by opening up too soon on groundies...thanks for sharing vid...

surprisingly, they elected to practice serve with a hitting partner around and surprisingly both hitting partners elected not to return the serves :)

Sorry Mick, both courts on either side were taken, and we didn't need to add any more loose balls flying around.
We did later play a doubles set, just the two of us. Yeah, I was confused also, playing a doubles set with two total players, and lost zip and zip.

Well, to you, I'm an immortal.
To everyone else on this forum, I'm just an old 4.0 hack who says he plays at high 3.5 singles levels, otherwise known as a hasbeen.

No problem. I was surprised because myself, I would practice serve only when I don't have anyone to hit with but you guys are not me :)

Oh, we each hit 4 serves before the vid. We were spraying groundies all over the map our first 10 minutes of rallying, as waiting 3 hours for a court would force you to do.
Not only 3 hours of waiting, but this was the 3rd court we waited on.
And remember, vid was shot in April, just after a rainy 3 weeks, and neither of us had been playing over the winter.
I have less excuse, normal tennis schedule for me is once every two weeks.

You would destroy zapvor. I believe in you. I think you should teach at the Evert Academy. They need classically trained GOATs to shape the careers of future 5.5 ballers.

Nah, everyone knows the Evert's Academy has no opening for head cases, lefties, or hard hitters who want to end the point ASAP.
They would preach percentage tennis, smart shots, predominant CC hitting, and prohibit walkabouts, emotional rages, or spectator checking out.

Sometimes, you gotta think, which you don't do.
If I played better, I'd have no time for this forum.
I play about once a week, during the season. From Jan thru Sept., closer to once a month.
That leaves lots of time for talking.
Now say I'm at TonLar's level. He needs to practice 3 days a week on order to stay the same. Once more day of practice might lead to improvement over time. Then he plays matches. He has no time to chat on the forum.

that's why IMO, Djokovic is pretty remarkable. He's the best tennis player on the planet right now but he still has time to post on FB, twitter, etc... the other players such as Federer and Nadal sure don't post as much as Djokovic does.

Given that DJ still needs to practice a bit, he probably doesn't have to paint houses for a living or hump concrete bags to the job site, so he would have more time than TonLars and I...:)

Yeah, I'd love to write a critique on that old geezer's serve.
No leg spring. Duh, can't even run, or push off with that left ankle.
Slow swing. No excuse, but those were still warmups.
Kinda open stance. Where was I lining up to hit?
Most missed by a mile. Well, that has something do to with 5-11th serves total.
Long hair. Too cheep to get a haircut, sorry.
Alex and I waited from 5:45 to past 9 to finally get on a court. It was the first set of non rainy days in a rainy April. It was the 3rd court we waited on, driving to 4 total.
Those are the serves of a "4.0" level player. Both Alex and I.

Much worse than I expected.
In 1977, PeanutLouie's Mom asked me to hit serves to her kids. The following year, both RichWilliams and GregShepard, both A men's players, asked me to serve to them for practice.
I look now and see an old geezer gimping around without wheels or swing speed.
