2012 College Football

A&M one of the few teams that can bring muscle to the line of scrimmage vs Bama with OT's Jake Matthews and Luke Joeckel. Manziel's a wiggly escape artist. Should be an interesting one.

^^^It's already interesting...7-0 A&M, a pick and 3rd&goal for the Aggies...Manziel escapes a sack and TD! 14-0 in Tuscaloosa...the upset could happen!

^^^Alabama has attempted to change old "mo" with a score but Johnnyball is back in biz on this next drive. Big 4th down decision in 'Bama territory and TO to consider what to do...???

Much as I like 'Bama I have to say that CBS's Vern Lunquist and Gary Danielson's partisanship is really starting to leak into their commentary.

Thank you. I am sitting here sayng the same thing to my friend. These guys are massive alabama homers. They were the same way about UF when Tebow was there. Just terribly lame anouncers.

Awesome game though.

If I say Ohie St, Fl St or other conferences top teams would be lucky to finish in the top 6 or 7 in the SEC I would think its pretty obvious to most football teams which 5 0r 6 teams in the SEC i would have ahead of them since they are the class of the conference by a good margin.

SEC is unbeatable..........

UF looking good against...the Ragin Cajuns.
Florida dodged a bullet and was gifted that win courtesy of LA-Lafayette's bone-headed special team play at the end. Punter responsibility with only seconds left is FIRST AND FOREMOST: 1-step and get the kick off...this clown looked like he was taking a stroll in the park, Ragin' Cajun's leaky blocking notwithstanding. Cajun QB Broadway would've been "run or pass" dangerous in OT.

Are you a PSU grad or from PA? From your avatar, I would have never guessed. I'm originally from PA and almost went to PSU (Lehigh instead).

Wow! I didn't think TX A&M could do that - on the road! From what they say about Nick, there will be some tough practices next week in Tuscaloosa.

Will be graduating from PSU in December, actually. Though I am an out of state student. Avatar? Did you think I was British?

A&M is unbeaten on the road with their two home losses close ones to ranked teams after first-half leads (UF then LSU). Manziel needs to be considered in the Heisman race...a freshman has never won (A. Peterson finished 2nd) but Johnny Football is very worthy!

Dont be such a sore loser.

And what you just said, I never said BTW. You really twist words when you get desperate.

UF will be the best Defense we faced all year. That is a no brainer.

You said I was clueless when I said FL State and Ohio State would be 7th in the SEC. The newest BCS ranking have 6 SEC teams ahead of you so what I said isnt clueless. It may not stay that way when the seasons over but this late in the season and still 6 SEC teams are ahead of you so you may not be the smartest fan on the planet since you acted like it was unthinkable to even say what I said.

Let's just wait for the two best ACC teams to play their SEC rivals in a few weeks. Then we will find out who is right.

It is clueless because you fail to take in account so many variables that have already been outlined by myself and others just a few posts back. College football is all about money and exposure. The SEC has an amazing TV contract and the exposure is unparalleled. That means even better recruiting for FSU if we were in the SEC.

Like Mikeler said, it's going to play out and we will see. FSU has not played any of these teams, and you are going by a computer ranking which is why college football's system is ridiculous. The last time I heard all this rhetoric was right before we played South Carolina in the bowl game and beat them down. Mysteriously all that chatter stopped for a while.

I am not an SEC fan at all so I have rooted for the ACC teams to win in these matchups. I was at the Bowl game here in nashville several years ago when KY played Clemson and 95 pct of the stadium was blue but I was rooting for Clemson.

We seem to draw SEC teams quite often in the lower tier bowls.

BTW, I just can't even take this BCS ranking at all serious. Clemson is ahead of us as well in one of the computer polls hat the BCs is based on!!! LOL.

The only way we can ever find out who is really the best is to have at least 8 teams in a playoff.

If not we are going to always wonder if bama could beat Oregon (i say yes). If Notre Dame could beat A&M (doubtful)...etc..etc.

It just all seems pretty stupid to me. Especially when you watch college basketball march madness and it is so entertaining. I am not suggesting a 64 team playoff, but a college football playoff that shaved 2 crappy games off the schedule and allowed for 8 or 16 teams would be so much better than this nonsense.

Everyone gets rich, so everyone is happy. The bowl system is pure genius IMO. The controversy actually adds to the interest.

The fans will watch anything even if they b!tch about it. It's sort of like a reality show where we root for X (Boise State) and against Y (Notre Dame). We get to hear from the coaches and fans for X and Y. The pundits weigh in, etc. What a great system. I think they let the fans vote for a few bowl spots. Maybe have some team go through a few "challenges" to get some other bowl spot. Lots of possibilities.

Agree with the greed aspect. It is such a money driven sport.

But ratings are sinking. People are sick of bowl games. If FSU wins the ACC, they will play against the winner of the Big East...uggh. It's a pointless game. It proves nothing to anyone.

College football is a regional game that is not really growing in popularity like the NFL has.

I have to be honest, I lost interest in watching most sports quite a while ago. About the only thing I do watch is tennis.

Two things I pray for the rest of the year:

1. KSU and Oregon remain unbeaten

And/or

2. USC manages to beat Notre Dame.

It will be a total travesty if The Golden Domers wind up in the title game. Smoke and mirrors have been their 12th man.

Don't forget the officials, who played key roles in wins against Stanford and Pitt.

LAT! Their most famous football alumnus still thinks that's how you spell a feline domesticated pet!

Nowadays Karl Malone would be a tight end and never play Basketball and he couldnt play his first year at LAT because of his grades. So maybe those guys aint too smart down there.

But I still hope they rain on the BCS parade. That 2pt loss to A&M looks alot better now as well.

Suppose you schedule a football game and a track meet breaks out instead...NC State spots 13 points to Clemson and then comes roaring back with 24 unanswered of their own. Clemson then scores and it's 24-19 with 12 minutes before halftime!

BTW, when did the 3rd Saturday of November become Cupcake Day??? It's ridiculous to see so many top teams taking the week off while playing powderpuffs so late in the season.

Had a good time at the game today. Nice seeing how well McGloin has developed under O'Brian. Shame about Mauti's injury, hopefully it isn't too bad since he has been such an important guy on and off the field for us. Crazy to think next week will be the last football game I go to as a student.

LOL Baylor leads KState 28-17 at the half.

If Oregon beats Stanford they will setup a UCLA vs Oregon PAC-12 championship game. Oregon might be the new #1 on Sunday.

TV broadcast makes it sound like theres no one there, do Ducks have a good game day thing going on? It always sounds a cool school.

Looks pretty packed, but the crowd seems sedated tonight. I was watching College Gameday this morning and there were a lot of people there for how early it was.

The SEC teams in the top 10 of the BCS should all fall a spot or 2 for even scheduling those teams they played today. Thats embarassing playing teams like that. The only way to stop it in the future is to punish the teams that actually do it.

Damn it Oregon!!! Looks like we'll have at least one SEC team in the title game. K-State totally was exposed. Notre Dame will be #1.... Ewwwww

Wow, what a day in CFB. And ND still unbeaten, gotta give it up for them especially after the 'better' teams have all slipped at least once.

And LOL @USC. Lame Kiffin at it again.

I really wanted the status quo so Clemson had a better chance at a BCS game. I wake up this mornng and college football has turned upside down. It could have been Ohio State versus Notre Dame national title game without the sanctions on OSU.

Well that sucks. If we beat OSU we will go to a BCS game, so that's something.

My wife goes and delivers our 3rd child last weekend, another strapping nearly 9 # future Hokie tight end, removing me from proper college football viewing for 2 weekends and THIS happens! :)

In all seriousness....damn, Big! I was pulling for the Ducks (and the Pac 12 in general) to break the SEC stranglehold. Oregon seemed sedated but Stanford's D was solid.

Didn't even get a chance to watch any of the K State game but was equally shocked.

Bama/Georgia are thrilled. One of them (likely Bama) gets to punk Notre Dame for the BCS title. God must be a Southerner/SEC administrator/Pac 12 ref or something. :)
