Well according to Barry Cowan http://www.skysports.com/opinion/story/0,,17136_8274696,00.html.
Maybe in 2020, when all of the top four have retired.LOL WHAT A CLOWN
Federer did set the bar really high.In the first set of his match against Fed at the WTF I thought Murray played as well as Djoker in 2012 - absolutely crushing the ball with frightening depth and consistency. Then he fizzled. If either he or Djokovic can can reach that level of court coverage combined with consistent power hitting again I would agree that the bar has been raised. But when the 31 year old guy with OHBH beats one and nearly beats the other, I'd say the bar is hovering right now.
It's ridiculous that they do because Sampras was clearly well out of his prime, everywhere by that point.Ahh yes.. Barry Cowan.. The guy who took Sampras to 5 sets at wimbledon in 2001. (the same year Fed fans try to argue Sampras was in his grass prime or something)
Raonic breaking into the top 4?
The guy is just another giraffe serve bot. He can't return and his ground game is top 65.

Lol his ground game is college-level.
Tommy Haas.No one cares, 90's ****. Sampras is old news, never won the CYGS, never won 5 wimbledons in a row, lost the only official match to baby fed (if you're wanting to make excuses)
gtfo. And don't pull the 'weak era' crap. Cedric Pioline is all I have to say about that.
They certainly are extraordinary players in terms of sustained power hitting from the back of the court. But new bar? Murray has one slam, so new bar there. Djokovic had a superb 2011 where he got the 10th best winning percentage in the open era...hmmm. Great player no doubt but lets not get carried away.
Lol his ground game is college-level.
Murray didn't raise anything.
Yes, he did:
Nah. His opponents played badly. Murray was lucky.
It was windy. Djokovic had a bad breakfast...
People always make excuses for Murray when it comes to majors. Even this year at the US Open. Can't people just accept that he won it fair and square? What would the excuses have been if he'd also won Wimbledon?
Fed is old. Murray lucky. Djokovic in decline. Nadal missing.
Something to do with a roof...

You are right ..the wind wasnt that much of a big deal and had nothing to do with murray winning the first set tie break 13-11 or whatever it was..there were alot of long close rallies as usual :neutral:People always make excuses for Murray when it comes to majors. Tommy Haas.

Yes, he won fair and square. But if Melzer won the Australian Open after 3 retirements and a qualifier in the final, would it be accurate to say that he "raised his game" just because he was the last man standing?
Saying that he won fair and square is one thing. Trying to make it as if his quality of play was any different is another.
Probably not in your Melzer scenario but what's that got to do with Murray?
Nobody retired against him at the USO (on the other hand, Djokovic and Federer both progressed through after a retirement) and he didn't get to play a qualifier in the final but the defending champion and world #2 who was soon to be world #1 again!
Do you really see no difference in the quality of his play in Slam finals this year as opposed to his previous Slam finals?

Yes, he did:
Djokovic is raising the bar and several trophies and atp 1 to go with it.
Nadal or Murray.Nadal will fix that in 2013
You wish. Lol.
Nadal will fix that in 2013
Fingers crossed lol. Btw, If anyone is wondering why I barely post lately, I work 11 hrs a day, 6 days a week now.
Unstoppable? Not quite. Djokovic isn't going to go away and Murray's level has risen (in majors at least).Yeah he'll be unstoppable in 2013. The only person that might be able to stop him is Murray at Wimby but that's it really.
I was wondering how come you don't post much annymore. Now I know why. You're gonna work yourself to death working hours like that.
Maybe in 2020, when all of the top four have retired.
Yeah, I post things now, and go straight to bed, so if anyone replies to my stuff, I don't see it, so I figured I should probably say why lol. I work for a company that does 60% of their business during the holidays, so after Christmas i'll finally be back more often. I miss this place Don't even get me started on the last time I got to watch live tennis. Im actually at work now as a matter of fact, but we aren't too busy right now.
Albert will win two majors next season. All the top four AND Albert Montañes.
