Sadly, he's *maybe* 5' 9", coming in ~ 200lbs. But he moves very well for a big guy.

In all honesty, you'd never know he was a tennis player, and walking on the court, you'd probably think "I've got this. No problem.".

Then he'd blast a serve by you @ 120+, and you'd think "eh, lucky serve.".

Then he'd blast a forehand by you @ 100MPH, and you'd think "hmm. I wonder if he can do that again.".

Then he'd hit a deft touch volley, or a drop shot off a good, deep offensive shot, and you'd think "WTF!?!?!?".

Next thing you know, you've lost the set 6-3 and you're wondering "How the hell did that happen?!?!".

The legend grows...

Racquet is the Head Extreme Pro (can't remember if its the OS or MP).

Clothing choices...his most famous outfit at our club is the skin-tight 'wife beater'. Not sure what manufacturer...

Wife beater shirt! Gary is like honey badger with clothes.

Does he wear socks with sandals? Soccer shorts without pockets for surely he needs just one ball to serve.

Odd you would mention that as he is probably the only person I know who holds on to the 2nd ball during the point. So in effect, he doesn't need pockets in his shorts.

Not from Gary, but we've had others who have 'imbibed' during social events and things have gotten out of hand.

I should add that our club has a real 'small town feel', and most members have known each other for years & years (many went to high school together and are now in their mid-50s), so when things 'go down', we usually laugh about it later.

As far as McRibs go I thought part of the legend would be BNT eating a sandwich nodoy else can get while drinking natty bos. The addition of the wife beater only adds to it.

After reading it appears McDonalds will release the McRib on Dec 17 this year. probbaly for a limited time. So you have to wait a 1 week and a half to get one.

I did a search on Facebook & didn't find him. However, it did come back w/ some hits on his name & one had a photo.

Funny as it is sooo appropriate that the only photo I can find of him grows the legend even more...

I went broke those 2 weeks last year when they had McRibs. Such a awesome combo of that reformed ground pork, sauce and raw onion can not be matched. Best $3 McDonald Sandwich I had. I remember I had at least 2 meals a day there for that time.
Also, has anyone tried the McPizza? I even heard in New England there's a McLobster Roll as well. Always wanted to try.

I used to love the McRib... but lately I don't find it to be as tasty. IMHO - taste like pork based foam with a weak BBQ sauce.

Anyway, been working hard trying to drop some lbs. Of course being I had to slam my left knee off the gym floor while doing burpees. Didn't feel it sunday, but it's been pretty sore since monday - ugh.... Hoping the pain goes away before my next tennis clinic.

I've been getting on a bit. 10 min here and there. Feel bad about partying up though when I have to drop out every 5 minutes and if the kids are sleeping in the room, I don't want to use the mic.

Bought Black Ops for some kid for X-mas, turns out, he already had it. Sooo.... I kept it for myself. Haven't played yet. Still on Halo multiplayer and Borderlands. Now someone is telling me that Far Cry 3 is better then all those games.

I either fractured my rib or it is severely bruised... going to the doc this afternoon just to make sure. Going to take it easy for the next couple of days so maybe I can get some video gaming in.

I've heard that Far Cry 3 single player is amazing, but I'm not convinced on multi-player. Prob sell Blops 2 when I get tired of it and pick up FC3. Loved Far Cry 2.

team monkey-pauls lost to team sea bass/downs last night in the battle of the 4.5 bumpees. 5-7, 5-7, 3-4. paul and i squandered leads of 5-3 and 4-2 in the first two sets. we also wasted about 8 net cord winners. and we played downs at about 70% serving only 2nd serves because his vagina hurt or something.

on the other hand paul has zero ligaments or cartilage and played the match wearing yard gloves on his feet.

i want a rematch. with banh mi and kai rabert on the line. given proper motivation, i would have been more focused.

i don't talk in third person. i am playing with the donnay silvers. i didn't try any other sticks. i did string them up fresh with msv focus hex at 48 pounds. a good deal more comfort than tour bite at the same tension. but a bit less spin and pop. the trade off for comfort though seems worth it though. not sure why i said though twice. though.

my next string jobs i wanna try tour bite soft.

i haven't had indian food in a few weeks now. i wonder if my curry place remembers me anymore.

it was hurting bad! i asked monkey for some pain meds before we hit and he gave me some blue pills...

TM, i refused to rally with your slicing haha my grip choice does not mesh well with your ball (that could be taken the wrong way, but this is a tennis forum ) -- but yeah, that's why i was just crashing the net...

lastly, TM and PaulMan have perfected the let court drop shot....no joke, they hit about 7 of them in the first 3 games...all directed at me...

Lunch will be at a seafood bar in warn sunny south florida.

Is anyone here a fan of raw bars? Oysters raw any good? I can't remember the last time I had one or if it was any good.

I do miss blue crabs but they have a lot of stone crab claws down here. They are served cold with a mustard sauce. Tastes like lobster, blue crab and imitation crab combined.

South east. Fort lauderdale. Weather in comparison to up north is usually 100% better. Flip flops and shorts. 77 high with a 73 low. Perfect winter weather.

I'm going to the beach each week and its super nice. Can't speak for Naples but dats makes it sound like purgatory with golf and tennis. Here we have tennis, bars, hot wings, pretty girls... Basically everything Gary would want.

And since I'll be down there w/ the wife & kids, bars & pretty girls aren't at the top of the list (protocol would dictate that I state "I will already be there with the prettiest girls around"...). Weather sounds perfect for tennis, though.

Naples is awsome..: just not for partying. It could use an influx of people under 80 though so i could have somebody to play singles with on 1 of the 30 immaculate clay courts next to our condo. But the private beaches are pretty sweet!

Where in Naples is your condo? My parents own at World Tennis Club, off Airport Pulling Rd, across from Naples Bath & Tennis. They're still 'snow birds', making the trek from/to NY in the fall/spring.

We always go to the same beach: The one right near the Ben & Jerry's...
