I just applied for a job in Chantilly. Not sure what Im going to do If I get it. Probably find a cheap place to pay rent and still go back to grace on weekends. Until I decided if I like living in the area then I may sell my house. but with my parents living me and dad not close to finishing the house they are to move into. I cant just kick them to the curb. Such a conundrum (not sure if thats proper use of that word or not).

Also applied for a job in Bahrain. So I might be gone altogether for a while. But If I do end up in Bahrain. I will probably return a 5.0 level player. But will still be 4.0 and can own USTA for a year or two.

mclovin, i played your tri level partner, in 8.0 mixed yesterday at chesnut forks...our team lost the first sets on all courts, but somehow pulled out the match...chesnut definitely brought the A team too....GP, BS and your tri level guy...

after the match, GP said BS is better now that he's not drinking...haha, you know you have a drinking problem with HE tells you, you don't need to be drinking (side note, i've seen GP down a beer right before a match)

thanks JRStriker. Seems like you've debunked the magical spin secret sauce for Wilson. I want to try the 99s. I heard it feels pretty head heavier than normal.

Debunked? Maybe, sort of.

Plenty of spin potential in that racket, it comes down to whether you have the technique and game to really make a difference.

It's like the APD, good racket, lots of spin, not going to make you Rafa.

He's not only my tri-level partner, he runs CFAC (his dad is the owner, but Derek has been running it for the last 5+ years). So, you literally went into his house & gave him the beat down...

Must have been an off-day for CFAC mixed as our 40+ 8.0 team lost last night in Great Falls. My wife & I got shellacked by a "4.0" (note the use of quotes) pairing, 6-4, 6-2. Felt more like a 9.0 match, at least from their side of the court.

Bill losing is surprising, but seeing that it was Santos he played against, I can see that. I'm surprised he hasn't been bumped to a 5.0 yet.

Oh, and on a racquet-side-note, me & Derek played singles last week. I was up 5-2 when he popped the string in his last frame. He tries to use the 'light' version of the PS, but he didn't like it & I won the set 6-2 and went up 3-0 in the 2nd.

At that point I walked over to my bag, pulled out one of my frames & told him to put that POS away & use one of mine. Guess what? The ba$**** beat me in a tiebreak. Serves me right...

i hate losing to someone who is using my racquet...haha

do you want santos on your 4.5 team? i could convince him...

you should always keep a cracked racquet in your bag to:

1. have your opponent loose
2. to guilt your opponent into getting you a new racquet

Hollywood,

Bahrain gonna be tax free (the first 80k or whatever)? I thought about a job in Saudi when I got out for that. Bahrain would be much better!

monkey, sap: big gratis for the ride to Granville Moore's! Still stuffed - good mussels and fries. Beer was a bit pricey for small glasses...

monkey, hope you had a little bit of leftover pizza for the wife when you pulled into the driveway...haha

Hi tmonk. Sorry I am still in snail mail delivery time mode. Did we need to take out a second mortgage to eat there?

Speaking of Rockville. Anyone notice about these types of red light cameras? I think they were implemented late last year?
Citations will be given for the following in front of a red light camera (there's a motion/speed sensor pod in front of the white line behind the crosswalk):
1. Vehicle must be completely stopped before making a right in front of a right camera.
2. Vehicle has to be less than 13 MPH while turning.
3. Vehicle has stopped anywhere in the crosswalk area.
Violation costs $75.

I'll mention it to Derek this week. He knows Jon as well, and he might have already hinted to it. We've lost Vinnie to 5.0 bump, the other singles player to grad school in AZ (doesn't plan on returning this spring/summer), and another to "old knees" (he can't play on anything but clay), so we need a few more to fill in the gaps.

CB -- yeah i heard moco is trying to generate even more money from traffic cameras. including tickets for stopping with all four tires behind the white line in front of a traffic signal and then backing up -- as in you slammed the brakes to stop but overshot a bit and then backed up. that's a ticket. also if you don't come to a full stop at a red light and make a rolling right turn. that's a ticket.

sap / pman -- thanks for the fun at granville moores. van damm good mussels and fries and beer. i think the fries were the best part. the mussels were as good as advertised. the belgian beer on tap was also good but a little pricey. 1 belgian beer = 12 bottles of sam adams.

swerve -- welcome to the forums. i have a buddy from loudoun cty too. sea bass is his name.

Welcome to the TWMAC.

I'm out near Loudoun (Dulles), but I can't hit too often due to my schedule. Keep an eye out for TWMAC hits, though they tend to be closer to Arlington/DC.

Less than 13 mph when turning? Is that an actual law? What if you need to accelerate to get up to traffic speed?

Thanks! I'm out in Leesburg. DC or Arlington isn't bad. Usually have to go that way anyways for mixed combo. I just started playing and am a pretty good 3.0 so hopefully you experts don't mind hitting with a rookie, I will however run as much as I can down.

I am captaining a couple of 4.0 teams out here in the sticks if you want to commute. You may be too young for one of them, though; your 5.0ness always showed up when we hit together, but I think that was more my 1.5ness making you look gooder than you really was. :)

Dats,

Sup misses giving clinics. From your love/hate relationship with the a/c, jrs competitor spirit with the game 21, tennis monkey 10 minute breaks, mopping Auzzie sweat puddles and topaz commanding her lady clinic friends like a teacher pets.

*give me a moment..I may tear*

P.s. lent for sup= no alcohol for 40 days starting tomorrow. Tonight will be epic.

~i'm forming a thought ~.. instead of trying to get everyone to move to FL. why not just move back to VA. it's 55 today and sunny.. not as warm but not as rainy.. dats would of tested out his new demo sticks wit ya. you'd prob drink less too

You lost me at 55 degrees. Then lost me again at drink less.

Isn't Derek the guy we watched play while terribly hung over/possibly still drunk? He's good! LOL. Even while in a lot of pain!

Oh, and there was no 'possibly'. He was still drunk, no doubt about it...

had to send my 22 matched sticks back b/c i specifically asked for a double parnell knot with a bowline knot to finish at 3 and 9. i like the constant tension brought on by these knots. jeeesh.. noobs.. how does federer put up with these clowns.

topaz -- you're right. sea bass is in lorton. not loudoun. or whatever that is. but both start with L so to my tiny brain it's all the same.

sup -- every area has its pros and cons but the way i see florida --

florida pros: sunshine, beaches, fishing, boating, shopping, relatively cheap cost of living.
florida cons: nasty azz bugs, can be hot and oppressively humid, hurricanes, lots of elderly people who can't drive, and home of many of the stupidest people in the Union.

what's for lunch people?
