Will Murray ever win a legitimate Major?

As we all know his US Open win was due to the fact that the conditions were windy. It doesn't matter that the wind affects both players, clearly Murray's win is credited to the wind because he won the match.

Furthermore, we all know his Wimbledon win was due to Del Potro tiring out Djokovic. Nevermind the fact that Djokovic has easily recovered from 5 set semifinals before. Additionally, Murray had a 5 set QF and a 4 set SF before this final but he didn't suffer from fatigue because he won the match.

So, will Murray ever legitimately win a major? Seems like he's going down a Federer route winning a bunch of meaningless majors against mugs and tired opponents

LOL. no one cares about the competition. All that matters is just THE NUMBER and your name on the trophy. It doesnt matter if Murray wins his next GS beating only top 100 players. Its the same as any other major win. The number is the only thing that matters.

You are obviously a total moron with no sporting awareness whatsoever.

Give the guy a break FFS. Some people wont be happy until andy has beaten nadal, fed and djokovic all playing at their best on route to winning a slam. It doesnt always happen like that. You can only beat the players that the draw throws up for you. There are always these arguements you could make. You could argue that fed only won the french and wimbledon in 09 because he didnt have to play Nadal and that djokovic has only won some of his slams because federer isnt as good any more or because Nadal was injured and couldn't play in them. You can always focus on these factors being the reason for their wins as opposed to them winning because they were just better on the day. The best players cant always play at their best level, its very difficult to do which is why slams are so hard to win. Andy managed to keep his level higher than novaks on the day and he is a legitimate winner.

Novak has come back before from the brink many times. At the oz open a few years ago, he had a 5 hr marathon in the semi and then a 6 hr final with nadal which he won. He wasnt able to do that today. He certainly wasnt at his best but I actually dont think Murray was either. He was as good as he needed to be. I have seen both play better and the standard was certainly higher in the OZ open final this year imo.

Im a brit but im a huge federer fan and I wanted him to beat Murray last year. But i was routing for andy today. He has earned this success and fully deserves it for the way he has come back from all the dissappointments in finals. It takes immense character to do this. What he has achieved today is massive.

He's won 2 legitimate slams already. You may have to keep this thread alive when he adds to that number. Keep the excuses coming for your irrational hatred of the new wimbledon champion.

Maybe novak only beat andy at the oz open because andy was tired after his marathon semi with federer whilst novak had an easy straight sets win in his semi against the inferior Ferrer? These excuses are pathetic.

Would Murray have one an extra US Open if the rain delayed Semi marathon against Nadal (WHOM HE BEAT) would have allowed him an extra days rest.

So what is your f*cking point. HE WON GET OVER IT!!!!!

IF IF IF!!!!! Saddo.

Hard to tell on this forum. There are three more, seemingly serious, just like it.

The others do seem legit (and laughable).

Nevermind the fact that Djokovic has easily recovered from 5 set semifinals before. Additionally, Murray had a 5 set QF and a 4 set SF before this final but he didn't suffer from fatigue because he won the match.

That part gave it away for me.

Of course, because you would be shattered after a 3 set match!

Yes, Federer was shattered, thank you for the words. I thought this Thread was only for Murray bashing, are you implying he beat a fresh Federer?

I'd say don't lose your sense of humour, but it seems you have a loose grip on reality. Thought this thread was supposed to be fun.

2008 when he beat Djoker at Cincy was his first legit, I agree all others are tainted including the 2011 default win.

Poe's law. On the internet, it's impossible to write something so stupid that there aren't people saying the same thing completely seriously. Makes sarcasm very difficult to detect! Though the line about Federer gave it away to me, I can't fault anyone for missing it.

Im sure there have been many slam finals were the runner up wasnt at their best but that certainly doesnt mean that the win wasnt legitimate.

It is legitimate.

Djokovic is a mediocre grass player. He needed to play his bunny Claydal in the final in 2011 to fluke his sole Wimbledon title.

Of course you can argue that the way Djokovic played helped murray to win. However, even if he had brought his 'A' game we will never know if that would have been good enough to beat Murray because his grass 'A' game is not as good as his 'A' game on hard courts imo and Murray may also have played better. Murray has played better than he did today and lost matches.

Andy only won because of the heat. The conditions obviously gave him an unfair advantage and plus the tournament officials were against-

NOT.

Andy won fair and square, dominating the world number one in straights, even zoning in some stretches. This board is insanity.

He's done well to avoid Fedal and face a sh^tty Djokovic in his slam wins.

Kudos to him.

This is probably the dumbest post I have ever seen on these forums.
