Tournament directors are probably like what the hell is going on!?

Cilic has always managed to give Murray a hard time. I'm surprised how bad his h2h is against Murray. He has has so many huge leads on Murray in the past and managed to lose.

Here's the tourney boss:

He probably knows better than us what's going on (ie top players only giving 75%). The larger part of the audience doesn't care what's going on, they don't even know or love tennis. They're just there by invitation of the bankers and busy networking instead of watching the play and those people are who bring in the big bucks.

It does look like that, doesn't it? When you look at the people in the stadium. I was there last year for Federer-Benneteau, and after that match was Simon-Klizan. They were both evening matches, but really, after the Fed match, 3/4 of the whole stadium went empty.

Very true, 2-9 after today. I'm picking Cilic to lose the final to Gulbis in 3.

2014 isn't going to provide Andy with much fruit.

I hope he gets back to his best but I think he's done not physically more in the motivational sense.

Well it's still early days post-comeback for the Muzzah but things are going more or less as I would have guessed so far regarding his form and I suppose also his results.

I don't envisage him doing too well at IW or Miami, either.

Murray is still a bit subpar (not hitting enough good serves, making too many errors, a lot of them quite basic ones) but that was partly due to Cilic's great form. Andy really had no effective answer today against Marin's great serving, aggressive hitting and all round confidence on court.

I wonder if Marin has finally turned a corner? He's been playing with great aggression and confidence all this month, not dropping a set on his way to winning Zagreb and, so far, not dropping a set in Rotterdam.

On this form, I see him as a lock in for the final and probably for the title!

Sljisling is playing well enough to win this, I didn't think I would say that at the beginning of the week.

It's been 16 years since a Dutch player last won in Rotterdam. That was Jan Siemerink in 1998. So it would be a great boost to the Dutch fans and the Rotterdam tournament if Sijsling can pull it off. Who knows, it might even bring a flicker of a smile to the lips of the determinedly unpatriotic Merwy?

You are probably right. I didn't watch the match today, but I have seen some of their earlier clashes and Cilic's ground game can certainly trouble Murray. Murray's form is very erratic now at smaller events. He does great in slams now, but underperforms in masters and 500s. Back in 2008-2010, it was the opposite scenario.

Like that is going to happen. Long time for the Dutch to have to wait but for such a small country they have done ok in tennis over the years.

Sjlisling's all court skills will test Cilic, more so then he was today. I thought Murray was off and he knew it, long may it continue.

Since winning Wimbledon, he has never gone further than the quarter-final of any of the 6 tournaments he has played since, Slams or otherwise.

Back in 2008-2010, it was the opposite scenario.

Well, he made 2 Slam finals in that period and 2 more prior to making his breakthrough at 2012 USO. 2012 has, so far, been the only year since 2008 where he never won anything higher than a 250 apart from the Olympic gold and his first Slam.

I answered the last part of your quote first.

Maybe he isn't as good as you think he is, he has no right to get further then the quarters.

Haha now you're exaggerating;-) I would love for him to win an ATP 500 tournament! I like how his game is very different to Haase's (the other Dutch "star"), who is more of a clay courter while Sijsling plays pretty flat and offensive.

But I have to add: If he does win the tournament, you won't hear me or any other Dutchmen say: "We won Rotterdam".
