nc state plays great today compared to that GTech nearly won vs Wake yesterday
Wake forest beat NC Central 6-1. Bogaerts was put at #6. What the hell? How is that even remotely allowed? Can NC Central protest this and get a win over Wake? Because they should.

Reading earlier threads it looks as if Dumont was going to transfer to Clemson last year. He obviously didn't and ended up at Wake. That could be why the Clemson reserves were giving him some stick.
Clemson_tennis,
This is an odd request. I gather from your posts above that you bit the bullet and bought a Wake monthly all-access pass to be able to watch the Wake-Clemson match last Sunday. It doesn't appear that I can get away and head into Winston on Friday afternoon for the Wake-ND match at 4pm. Would you mind sharing your log-in info with me? Wake is reviewing this policy, and my guess is next year they won't charge for tennis, since not many, if any, other schools do. I'll gladly share my email with you if you have no issues with this. Thanks in advance.
Florida State
Most impressive result: 4-3 win over Wake Forest to back up the win over NC State.
Most discouraging result: 5-2 loss at Clemson. The match seemed to be in FSU's hands but blew the lead on two courts and got the loss despite two easy wins on courts 4 and 6.
Most surprising player: Cristian Gonzalez-Mendez. He has really had a good year so far. Up to #65 in the rankings and could really be playing #1 for the Noles right now. Has a solid amount of good wins.
Most disappointing player: No player really stands out as being too disappointing. I could say Nunez but he has had a mix of decent results and bad ones. The biggest disappointment has been the fact that Ben Lock cannot play. If he was healthy right now, he could be in at 3 or so, drop Blake Davis to #4, Nunez out entirely and keep Rinaldi and Goldin in at 5 and 6. That's a salty team.
Expectation for the rest of the season: With the big rankings jump last week the expectations have been upped. Now they can look to pull and upset and make the round of 16 when before simply making the tournament may have been the goal.
Key to achieving expectation: CGM needs to continue his strong play, that has been the single biggest boost to the Noles this season. Another key is Cotrone getting ins at #1. He cannot get beat consistently at 1. Recently he has grabbed a few wins and that is key.
NC State
Most impressive result: Not a lot to choose from. 4-3 win over South Carolina has to be the selection.
Most discouraging result: East to go with the loss to Miami, but it seems like Miami has on a roll that weekend and might have just ran into a buzzsaw so I will go with the loss at Northwestern. At the time this was a Northwestern team that had been struggling but beat NC State. That was the beginning of the slide for the Pack.
Most surprising player: Austin Powell has become a solid #1 player which is very surprising considering where his game was two seasons ago where he was a mediocre #4.
Most disappointing player: Nick Horton has struggled mightily in his young college career. He was supposed to be one of the top freshman in the nation and instead has barely won a match. His addition was what led me to believe that NC State was going to be a better team this year.
Expectation for rest of the season: Make the NCAA tournament, pull an upset or two.
Key to achieving expectation: Thomas Weigel needs to put in more consistent results. He slips in and out of the line-up, sometimes giving a good result and other times producing a howler. Also NC State has always been a strong doubles team and in the close matches they need to continue to get that point.
Virginia Tech
Most impressive result: 4-3 win over Tulsa. To this point the only win worth anything for the Hokies.
Most discouraging result: 4-3 loss to Boise State. Big chance to get a high ranked win and boost their own ranking, but could not get the job done. Massive opportunity lost.
Most surprising player: Amerigo Contini. He is now a top 20 national player. This isn't a huge surprise though considering I saw him play last year and thought he definitely had the potential to jump up in to the higher ranks of the college game with his versatile forehand.
Most disappointing player: VT has no really weak spot. Each player is about what you expect. The only area that has been disappointing is doubles. It is a week area for the Hokies.
Expectation for the rest of the season: Make the NCAA tournament.
Key to achieving expectation: Getting the doubles point more often, Bjerrehus becoming a solid #2 as he was last year. He has fallen off just a tad from a year ago and he needs to get back to 2013 form. Nicoud has developed into a pretty solid #6.
Pedro Dumont with a 6-0 first set over Covalschi.
Ronnie Schneider now ranked #10? He has had some ups and downs in the rankings.
3rd set tiebreak on 6 to decide wake vs ND
2-0 Kunz
2-1 Kunz. Kunz misses a backhand he attempted to go down the line with long.
3-1 kunz. ND is at the net and has a chance for 3 putaways but off screen Kunz hits a sick pass
3-2 Kunz. ND approaches the net and Kunz misses the pass long.
3-3. Horrible double fault from Kunz. Looking really off-balance on his serve.
4-3 Kunz. ND badly misses a forehand wide.
4-4. Service winner from Schnurrenberger
5-4 ND. another service winner.
6-4 ND. Lame backhand into the bottom of the net from Kunz.
7-4 Notre Dame wins it. Kunz hit the forehand just deep on the 2nd ball and Notre Dame mobs Schnurrenberger
why did you say Kunz and ND? why not both team names or both player names?
Kunz is a lot easier to type than Schnerrenberger.
