It appears since Rafa dissed the LB that Nike is trying to save face as quick as possibly. TW has already put them on "sale" for $135!!!!!

It is no good anyway. What is the point of LB ??? it is like Federer shoes with similar cushioning. Entire point of having Ballistecs were Great Thick cushioning with unmatched support and durability. and little more weight to make it feel substantial.......

new model took all this good features out.

thats just cuz we're in the next season now and those were the past season colorways. 4.3's dropped to like 100 from 130 when switching seasons?

I still say Nike should just suck it up and bring back the Courtballistecs.

I would love to see some of his fake LB colorways for retail in courtballistec. We all know they would have sold better.

+1; no value for me in the LB line - I hope Nike brings back the 4.3 or something logically similar (like a next generation that makes sense in functional form and price)

What you guys are saying(in meanwhile I stocked pilled on about 4 new pairs of 4.3s + 2 under use).

Tw said it is an awesome shoe. Nobody had an issue with it until rafa decided to stay with his 4.3.

I agree, I think it's a great shoe. But it definitely does not grip as well as the 4.3 and runs a little bigger than the 4.3 As long as you size down, it is great.

I dont have the same issues with the stability of the shoe that other users have had... to me the Lunar seems like a huge upgrade over the 4.3... it is still stable but is lighter and easier to move in, and getting rid of those atrocious lace loops was the biggest improvement they could have made...

Anybody else feels they are too tight? I ordered both 9.5s and Lunars when they went on sale. 9.5s are amazing and about to return lunars.

Tried it on and it was surprisingly very comfortable. Too high off the ground for a tennis shoe but yeah, even at a discounted price i couldn't force myself to buy it.

Original 9.5's dropped too.

If the LB's ever get to $80 I will try them - too happy with the 9.5's to do it for more.

But Nike does have a problem. I wonder what the wording is of Nadal's contract. And would love to be listening in next time they negotiate. Of course on the basketball side they recently had a similar (and more expensive) drama with LeBron - he took off his new line at half, switching back to his old model.

Nike should just bring back the Breathe Free 2.

Who didn't like those shoes (I'm sure some contrarian on here will speak up)?

I agree with this. I did not like the 4.3 and think the LB is a much better shoe but the price sucks. The BF2 was the best of the best. I still have one pair left that I rotate between my LBs, and GR5s.

As with any subject discussed online, this has been blown out of proportion.
This is the same situation as with the original ballistecs, the 1-3's. He was in cage pj's until the French (although his performance in them their wont have exactly put his mind at ease...)
I think he'll switch into his custom ones eventually an dig not, it'll be like fed and vapor vi's- but at least he's still got swooshes on so they won't be panicking too much

to me the shoes looked ugly with the color offerings they had, so i was never buying them.

further, $165 (175 after tax) is beyond the price point. Tennis shoes, especially on the green clay here, get trashed pretty quickly.

The price point drop is because the clay-court model has been released. It has nothing to do with it not being a good shoe. It is a solid and smooth shoe. The Ballistec is a great shoe as well. If Nike can combine the lacing system of the Lunar with the overall look and feel of the Ballistec, then we have something.

I am thinking of buying this shoe but it is still expensive at 135. I still have a pair of usable courtballistec 4.3s though so I can wait. Does anyone believe they will lower the price to something more reasonable? I like the how the shoe has a 6 month warranty because I usually wear my shoes out in 3-5 months.

Ridiculously overpriced = no one buys them. I am definitely not the target market for a $165 pair of tennis shoes....
Ditto. I make (very) good money - but $165 is just too high. The $5 increment for the 9.5 was fine.

yet people still buys them.
So you do see them where you play? (and even if you do today, it could be after they were discounted) I haven't seen one person wearing them yet.

Well I've seen plenty of folks wearing them.......in jr tourneys here lately about 25% of the kids had them. As for adults I wear them (can't wait for the white and lime green ones for Wimby) and about 15% of the men I see on court wear them.

I play at Westside the most in Houston and with about 3000 members here it's a pretty good demographic of the local scene.

I think the main reason they're not selling is because they are freaking UGLY! Who wants that giant "swoosh" on their shoes?.. unless you're being paid to advertise it. The paint splatter on the 9.5's isn't exactly "timeless" either but at least they are the most comfortable shoes ever made.

I just bought a pair and the shoe feels a lot lighter than CB. Also a bit softer. The ankle cushioning and support is better than Cages and I guess they will be more durable than 9.5's. So there is some point in purchasing them. Price is a bit high, I bought them at $125 with taxes. I don't usually wear the outsoles of shoes much, because I try not to slide on clay, being a bit heavy and I rarely play hard courts, but with CB I had trouble with other stuff - the strings that hold the laces. There were pairs that I had to wear with 4-5 lid thingies total while the shoes' outsole was barely worn.

I like them, but I won't be paying retail for a pair. But if they go on sale at $135, that's the MSRP on the 4.3s

Am I correct in assuming that Nike decided, "well we had Air Max in both the Cage and Ballistec, and since we took Lunarlon out of Vapors, we'll make the Ballistec our new Lunar tennis shoe."

Thus the Vapors are Air Zoom
the Ballistecs are now Lunarlon
and the Cages are the standard Air Max.

Again, just my observations.

If Nike brings back the Air Max Court Ballistec (which they should... ), then would the Cage change too (also fine with them doing that, didn't like the fit of those).

Are they planning to change the Air max cage? It has a loyal following so it seems like the best time to change it up on the customer, right?

Why do the shoe companies feel the need to change the shoes so often? Just bring back (or keep making) the Breathe Free IIs, CB 2.3 or 4.3, and/or 2k11's and everyone would be happy, right? Oh, and vapor 6 too. Thanks
