zap, like i said, after updating your resume; post it on monster.com. You'll get hits especially if you have a undergrad. You may not get a higher paying job, but it'll get your foot in the door.

FWIW, it's a good thing to ask you friends and family about job openings, but you also need to have an idea of exactly what you're looking for. Even if you do some temp work, they will ask you what you're skilled at doing.

thanks cb and striker! i dont really have an exact idea yet. temp work sounds perfect to me right now

Played a double header in 5.0 USTA league today. Longest day of the year (summer solstice). What heat I say? I'm going back to my club tomorrow for another double header.

anyone played with a yonex VCT97 310 b4?
what's for lunch today?
why are there 12 hot dog rolls when there are only 10 hot dogs in a pkg?

If you mean the original (e.g., 'non-G'), then yes. I used it for ~ 3 months last spring. Don't believe I've ever hit a better backhand w/ it, but couldn't keep the forehand in the court.

Eventually I lost confidence in it & went back to my Pacifics.

you are in full demo mode...what did you do with your Q5x's? if you still have them, can i weigh them and buy them if they are the right weight? haha

how was the sweetspot? Don't tell it's the size of a dime? I heard it feels pretty nice when hitting above the middle.

it's so sad. i've been in demo mode for the past year. At times, I think i would of opened a racquet museum if I don't sell those racquets.
The Audi's got sold a month ago. The two racquets were nice but they kept on belittling me because it felt like I needed to hit the gym after i hit with them.
Got 2 ai100's now and still loving them. Really string sensitive. One of the few sticks that I prefer poly over multi's over.
Just sold my 105s. Thought i can string them tight and it'll be more controllable. Found out it was still taking out helicopters.
So just got a VCT97 310 off of crappy bay for cheap. We'll see how it goes. Giving thin beams/ stiffer sticks a try. Only knock is that I would of preferred a 16x19 or a 16x18. i'll probably string it up looser with some thin gauge poly and a multi.
And of course, still trying to grab a used V1Pro. it's still my almond joy...

Sweet spot was OK. Not too small, but you do lose power on off-center shots. The 16x20 pattern is probably a bit tight for the frame. 16x19 would have been better.

I was using 17g gut mains, 1.18mm poly crosses, and never broke a string.

CB, yeah - the Q5X is a beast frame...Paulman gave me some suggestions to cut the weight -- there's a light weight base grip, or going up a grip size, and using two overgrips instead...so i can probably get the weight in the mid 330s -- stock -- strung with light weight multi - it comes out to around 345...which is heavy for that length of a frame...

The Wookie is back hitting with Babolat. The Babolat Pure Strikes 16x19 feel really good. I still have to grove my forehand a bit, but I think that would come with time. Pure Strike feels great on my spin serve and it's more maneuverable on the backhand side. I hit some really nice slices when pulled wide.

My match this week, took first set 6-1 off a very crafty lefty. We ran out of time at 2-2 and I just lost a tight tie break. Match was for fun, but I felt good hitting.

Have to adjust a bit on the ball where it's just below shoulder height, I think the heavier prestige helped me there with a bit more plow-through for a flat shot, but I have to adjust and brush up a bit more with the Bab PS.

U elbow me in the face and I might bite u too!
I have a soft spot for crazy people. We stick together.
but seriously, italy is a dirty dirty team and has been for a long time.
Dunno why an elbow to the face is not bad but a little love bite is so bad!
Just a kiss really.
brian mcbride prolly paid suarez to do it as payback

What's for breakfast?

I went back to the strike tonight for the second set of a critical match. Haha q5x was sluggish in the first. I was returning way better with the strike. Love that thing from the baseline.

breakfast this am is a big bowl of veggies.
Juicing is not really holding me till lunch (not even mid morning snack).

what's for lunch?

VCT 97 310 is coming sometime this week. From the SW, may need to add lead to increase plow. Prob will string it looser since it's a tighter stringbed and lighter racquet, any suggestions on a string setup? My choices are:

Cyclone 18g
GS Powercord 17g
GS Snakebite 17g
GS Syn Gut 17g
Dunlop Hexy 17g
Head RIP Control 17g
Prince Syn Gut 17g
Prince Premier 16g
Mantis Comfort Syn Gut 16g
Some other Mantis String 16g
Gripper 16g
Bab Nvy 16g

Putting RIP Control on crosses nowadays, just want to get rid of it.

My goodness, do I really have that much string at home?

man how you adjusted? Sounds like a Power Step down model. ai100 -> q5x -> Pure Strike.

all of them had different strings too...one even had multi...i think the racquet pretty much doesn't matter...we are wasting our time chasing the perfect setup...

but the perfect sammich...that's a different story...what's for lunch?

Whoever thought that Sardines between two slices of bread...BRILLIANT! tried it with both the tomato chilli sauce and in oil. The one with oil taste alot better.

it starts out kind of soft, and gets mushy after a few hits...if you are restringing every other time, then go for it! haha...fresh, it isn't half bad...i prefer a more crisp multi...

u can take it... feels like tight twisty nylon. very low power, couldn't get used to the feel of it.

Gets mushy but low powered?

I might want to try it anyway. Been on my demo list for a while. Let me know when we can make exchange and grab some lunch.

Feels low powered but will still trampoline random balls. Gobs of spin for a multi. No feel at all.

Meh.... I can get that with a poly ;)

Hit at Jefferson park yesterday to hit with a buddy of mine who's a 4.5 and played at Fairfax night owl. Apparently I reserved one of the courts that the regular players at the park take over with a group of people. I got a bit nervous, but they were very cool about it when I asked for the court. They were playing dubs and laughing the whole time. I was sort of fun looking over and watching occasionally.

Pure Strikes and cyclone feeling very good. Don't know why but the backhand is hitting the net and feels a bit off.

Hitting again today in Mclean. Hopefully I can find my groove.
