How Does Roddick Feel Right Now?

I am not entirely sure but I do believe he has a pretty nice wife to bang and pretty much enough money to help him resolve the depresion

Yep. Basically that. But Roddick blew many opportunities. And imo Fed was playing just as well as in 2009 Wimbledon Final. Same scenario. Djokovic pulled through unlike Roddick.

Not quite. Djokovic served 1st in the final set. If anything, Fed was in the same shoes as Roddick, having to hold serve to stay in the match.

Someone who has competed to the best of their abilities and given it their all? You can still take pride out of a loss, I know I think Roddick can feel proud of his performance in that Wimbledon final.

So he should, he Rocky training montaged himself that year, he was phenomenal, his athleticism was right back where at its peak, and he was excellent at Wimbledon.

Plus didn't he just buy a World Team Tennis team or something?

I was at the little exho in Miami where he talked about basically not wanting to get up every day and basically kill himself at the level that was required to be at the top of the game anymore.

And yet he's playing on a WTT team, raising money for his foundation, has his house, his wife, his fortune, and he'll always be a Grand Slam champion and 3-time Wimbledon finalist. Not too shabby.

A-Rod is fine.

Roddick might have thought a little about 09, but I am sure his life has moved on, and he looks to me to be doing fine. Loved his tweets. ;)

He probably thought: 'If only I'd converted one of those 6 set points to go 2 sets to love up back in '09, they might not now be calling me One Slam Wonder A-Rod!'

I'm very sorry but Roddick is not the same class of player as Djokovic at all. No comparison to be drawn here.

Well, fair dooze, Roddick DID push Federer harder at a Wimbledon final than any other guy not named Nadal or Djokovic. All 3 matches were hard-fought 5 setters. The difference was that, whilst the other 2 managed to cross the finish line, Roddick stumbled at the very last hurdle. So I think the comparison is fair in this context!

Who has pride when losing?

Yeah I don't think you should bash on Roddick's success because he's done way more than you and I bet that he can crush your pride by beating you to a pulp over and over again.

Plus, you can have pride even after losing by recognizing the hard work you put in to get to where you are compared to how you were when you first started.

Who cares if their careers aren't close, they both had a Wimbledon final with Federer that could have gone either way.

The only people Federer has played in a Wimbledon final are Philippoussis, Roddick (x3), Nadal (x3), Murray, and Djokovic.

So, what you're saying is that Roddick pushed Federer harder than Philippoussis or Murray did. Fair enough, he did. But it's a less ringing endorsement of him than you made it seem, especially as he got three tries. (It's fair to say that, in the 2005 final, he did not push Federer as hard as Murray did, and possibly even not as hard as Philippoussis did).

Best I've seen Roger serve since ....... Damn it

lol, why Roger never could serve like this against Nadal? And he never gives up against other guys, people I think he dislikes like Djokovic...

Against Nadal... As soon as Nadal gets a break the set is over. Or the match.

Roddick never got to play 33 year old Roger when the american was 27.

No truer words have been spoken.

Even the bulging bicep clay man outlasted roger in Wimbledon not before roger was 27.

But these days every other teenage slender boy is able to destroy the clay man in the only GS that matters.

This. I agree. I don't get why is Djokovic compared to Roddick at all.

7 slams vs 1 slam
2 Wimbledons vs 0 Wimbledons

Why did't OP compare say John McEnroe and Roscoe Tanner and ask how does Tanner feel about McEnroe beating Borg in W final in 1981 after losing the final to Borg in 5 sets in 1979?

I have to ask you, are you some spoiled british royal kid because the amount of arrogance and foolishness in you is just too damn high.

I agree. Novak is a great Player but not a good grass courter. against 2003-2010 federer he would have lost yesterday. even against prime grass nadal he would have probably lost.

Novak is lucky to face past prime fed and suck on grass rafa but still that was a great Performance mentally.

Id like to see him as a commentator, he always made interesting points off the court

Roddick was once number 1 in the world, he won a grand slam, bagged a supermodel, made a fortune, bought a WTT team, and will stay healthy the majority of his life.

Brad Gilbert went 0 for infinity against Lendl, but it didn't stop him from being a revered coach, an author, and an announcer, and someone with more money than the losers here combined.

And now that I think about it, there is something I need to do now.

Roddick had to deal with peak and prime Roger.

Didn't have the luxury of playing 33 year old Roger at SW19.
