I want to buy a reel of either the Wilson Ripspin 16 or Yonex ptp 130 for my Wilson Blade 98s and can't decide. Any advice? I like them both. PTP seems to have slightly more control, while the ripspin, slightly more spin. PTP should have better playability duration. Cost is about the same ($160 for PTP and $150 for ripspin), I like the white color ripspin better on the blade. Any thoughts? Really close call.

Personally, I think the Yonex PTP is a better all around string. I don't think Rip Spin is as good, it was just mediocre to me and definitely not something that I would buy a reel of for long term use.

Definitely Yonex PTP, is such a great all around string, great playability for a poly, great control, and holds tension exceptionally well.

Totally agree, except YPTP loses tension like there is no tommorrow. Serveral tests confirm this, including tests performed by TWU.

Played with both strings again last night. For some reason Ripspin felt better. I feel the ball more with Ripspin for some reason. Anybody else had the same? (especially given the fact that the poll overwhelmingly favors PTP).
It is also possible that there is a difference between my two Blade frames. I believe the one where I have RIPSPIN has a lower swingweight (322 vs 332).

The difference in SW can definitely alter your perception of the string. If SW is that different between racquets then the balance and weight are probably different as well. So next time try the PTP in the other racquet.

YPTP lasted only a few sets against a pusher for me. RipSpin 15 lasts for awhile in my 16x16 frame.

Anybody tried Tourbite 16 in open pattern frames? It gave me elbow problems in Head Extreme but thought to give it another shot in the Blade 98s since it may play softer given the open pattern and my arm may be stronger after playing an additional 8 months (I had the elbow pain after 4 months of playing and trying tourbite). My elbow is fine with Ripspin 16.

The Tour 100T ESP is extremely comfortable. I've only found 1 string that gave me arm discomfort in it and that was 15g Prince Tour XS. Wilson RipSpin and Prince Tour XC both in 15g felt just fine on my arm.

I dare you to try Luxilon 4G S then

I put in a new string order for side by side.
Sonic Pro Edge 16
Solinco TB 16
Ripspin 16
Lux 4G 16
Yonex felt mushy to me. Hope my elbow can take the Tour Bite - I am curious about Sonic Pro Edge as I read good things about it.
Yonex PTP felt mushy too me. I also already tried and discarded 4G Rough and Tour Bite Soft.

Ripspin is one of the three worst strings I've ever used. It's kind of like having sex with a drunk girl except it doesn't puke on you. It'll work, but then again so will your hand.

I play with Ripspin 1.30 in my Wilson Six One 95s. It's durable for spin rackets. Also comfort and feel are good on low tensions. I string my racket 51 lbs or 23 kg in main and crosses.

Not sure if I agree but got a good laugh out of the the joke. What string would you recommend then?

Babalot ballistic polymono for $4 a set but they don't make it anymore.

Trying BBO for the first time actually. Really like it, have to see if this is just the honeymoon phase.

Big Hitter silver and Gamma IO were nice and don't break the bank.
