It's the "hero" effect. Monfils gets is at RG too. He's so entertaining when he's pumped up! On the day, he's the most fun player to watch. But it's hard for him to maintain the energy and inspiration over 2 weeks.

I am guessing Fed is not match fit. He perhaps wouldn't be playing the second singles and not losing in straights. Not that he can say so or an excuse at this point, having played the match. What does it look like out there in terms of movement and game?

More like: delete mindless personal attacks that bring nothing to the debate and reply to the most meaningful stuff (which sometimes is not much, no offense :oops:)

Il est pas fini jusqu'à ce que la grosse dame chante mais Monfils a joué très bien indépendamment de la blessure de Federer.

Of course she does.
But she's also been the most prolific Fed-hater on this board for the past week and that takes A LOT of effort. I'd say her hate towards Fed is a lot stronger than her love for Monfils (and possibly even for her love for France as a whole, but that might be stretching it ;-) )

Today it's more got to do with Monfils zoning in rather than Fed playing badly. Fed looks alright-ish probably a bit rusty that's about it.

I'm gonna say, I don't think the DC is all that important career-wise, but it's obviously important to Federer & Wawrinka, as well as to Monfils and Tsonga.

That said, it'd be a shame if a couple of headcases win the event over a team with two Major winners. Tsonga and Monfils are both guys with ridiculous talent, but poor mental strength and work-ethic compared to the top-3.

I'm not at all ashamed of saying that Monfils is a clown, and everyone knows it, even those who like him.

Then again, maybe a win here for Monfils and Tsonga will do wonders for them, like it did for Djokovic, and they'll realize some of that ridiculous potential and win a Major.

If they win the DC, I really hope one of both of them go on to win a Major.

We would all be admiring how awesome Rafa's biceps and baggy pants are.

Nope, I'm calling you out for this too. There could be 10 perfectly valid arguments made, and because you have no good rebuttals for them, you just ignore them and maybe nitpick one thing out of the post that you can argue against.
