i was just wondering where will federer be in five years.. he would still be "young" and without injuries-he could still play great!

Unfortunately for American tennis, we're going down the tubes. With Agassi's retirement, and Ginepri not playing his best, that leaves James Blake and an inconsistent Andy Roddick for us, with nothing that promising on the horizon.

Fed has been No. 1 for about 3 years now. I don't think he'll keep it up for the next 5 years. Heck, I don't even think Nadal would be No. 1 in the next 5 years. He might be No. 1 soon, but probably not in the next 5 years.Kobble said:

He has a better chance to be #1 5 years from now then Nadal will have to be in the top 3, or maybe even the top 5, 5 years from now. People who play like Fed are typicaly close to their best, as long as they stay motivated, until 30-32. People with Nadal's are lucky to win their last slam title at 25, with his stressful and wearing game, Nadal #1 in the World in 5 years, ROTFL!! helloworld=nadalgirl26 probably.

19-21 year old. The thing is that when they see thier fellow teenager
Nadal wins slams and reach finals, they feel like they should be able to
do the same. I see very young slam champions next 2-3 years.
Kinda like when Courier,Chang,Agassi, Sampras brokes the scene
together within 2-3 year of time frame. But the thing is Federer
is still pretty young at barely 25. The force might be still too strong for these
young guns to sprout, if you know what I mean....

There is no doubt he still has massive weapons within him-serve, forehand, he just has to find a way to bring them out in a more effective manner, use them more efficiently, and play smarter tennis then he is currently doing.
Nalbandian is an extremely consistent player, rock solid, he is not spectacular but he is extremely solid and reliable. I dont see how him staying in the top 10 is crazy. He wont stay in the top 3, I would agree with that, but could stay in the top 10.
As for Donald Young he is a kid in over his head right now, but how would it be that surprising that as a 22/23 year old he could be a potentil bottom end top 10 player. Do you really think just because he is embarassing himself now vs older bigger men that he will never be a successful pro?
It is not like todays mens field is stunningly great in quality, you would know that probably as well. You dont have to be superman to be a top 10 player.

Djokovic is looking like the rising star. Federer will lose some of his power and speed. Nadal might be worn out from injuries, but then again maybe not. He could get a lot better by improving his serve. He's definitely the player to watch these 2 years.
