I've just been browsing a sports website here in the UK and found a very very new colorway for the 9.5's. Well I've never seen it before, its an all Volt show with Black laces, swoosh and white midsole.

Yep, this is Rogers AO 2015 shoes. TennisSpree have pics too.

ha curious to see what Ronnie does; can you imagine salmon toe 9.5s?

Funny thing is that Ronnie Fieg's initials are... RF !
The PUMA shoes he designed has a RF monogram on the heal :)

Before I press the trigger on these what am I looking at in terms of wear out of these shoes?

I play indoor on carpet now till march and have air max cages at present but want a lighter pair. Play 4-8hrs a week.

Vapors are definitely by far lighter and more low to the ground than the cages so you'll get that. But they'll wear out much much faster so they'll last around a month and a half for you give or take a week or two.

Different Color Laces

Anyone know where I can get different colored Vapor 9.5 laces? I'm thinking the Dusty Catcus colorway would look good with a pair of laces that match the swoosh but I'm not sure where to snag them. Thanks for any info.

Not vapor laces specifically, but New Balance makes some great aftermarket laces. You could probably get an orange to match fairly closely.

Nike Outlets usually have a good variety of colors.

Anyone been brave and pulled the trigger on the volt pair?

With all the other colorways on sale, I don't see a reason to. You can practically get 2 for 1 with some of the sales that came last month. I went a little crazy and stocked up on a few different shoes

I think federer was supposed to wear them during uso day sessions. Too bad the jordan-vapors came out for this tournament as well.

Wow...where the heck to you play your tennis?

Anyway, any lightweight shoe is not going to have much durability.

I love the black colour, but in my country is not available this model with clay sole, so i´m using this.

@Jimi_HX:

Had the same problem with my 9.5s after just a few months of use. I sent them back to the online retailer and got my money back to buy some new ones.

The retailer said the problem (breaking mesh on the forefoot) is well known by nike. So I bought the clay version of the vapor 9.5 wich has a synthetic leather instead of the mesh and it works just fine - no issues during the last 9 months. :)

Does that Leather version also come for Hard courts ? we don't have any clay courts here , we only have hard courts.

Unfortunately I don't think so. The leather-part is basically supposed to close the shoe, so no sand/clay can come through to the inside.

That sounds so good. what if I just buy that clay version and use it for hard court tennis. would that give me same traction and no issues ?

Saw an alternate colour today. Electric blue with volt laces and sole with a white swoosh. Looked good!

Why would they not change the mesh material at front? It like breaks with 1 month of use. :( Any tips on how to make them last longer aside from alternating between other shoes?

from what I am hearing from Nike, for Vapor 10, they are going to use the Graphene material so the mesh won't break anymore.

The mesh broke mainly where they left the gap on the side, so that was always an easy fix but they didn't do it.

And what's the point of fixing this anyway if the soles lack even basic levels of durability?

The V9.5s are a downgrade compared to the V9s. Having just got onto my first pair of them after a long run of V9s it is a bit disappointing to finally realise that they made a shoes which is probably much cheaper to make (fewer materials/gluing etc). The upper material is noticeably more flimsy than on the V9s and they don't support laterally as well.

On my second day of using the 9.5s and I have to say that all the hype is true! Very light and comfy compared to the Barricade 8s that I've been using the past couple of months. Coupled with Nike Elite socks, the level of comfort is superior to any other tennis shoes I've used. Highly recommended!

Why don't they just make all of them with leather like the clay version ? shoe will just be around 14 oz which is still very light.

From my experience, I think the Vapor 9.5s are an upgrade to the Vapor 9s mainly because they added additional padding to the tongue. I have not noticed quality issues with my 9.5s but then it might be because I wear them out pretty quickly. I only play on the weekends and they last 4 months tops.

What are the upcoming colorways for ZV9.5? Read somewhere of a white/black. If so, when? Anyone seen pictures?

I suppose your experience must have been different than mine. Having used both v9 and v9.5 (half dozen pairs of each), I don't agree with this. The only durability difference I've noticed is that maybe the outsole of the v9.5 is a tiny bit softer (i.e. wears faster).

I'm a big fan of both versions.

I apologize if this has been answered in this thread already, but how long did it take for the vapor 9.5's to break in for you guys? I've worn mine for 5-7 hours and they still feel a little stiff.

Usually takes only 2 hours or so of hitting to break in for me.
