Marcos Giron has turned pro per UCLA twitter:

UCLA will put together a top 6 that can contend even without Giron.

In some order:

McDonald
Brymer
Sell
Martin Redlicki
Mkrtchian (needs to get healthy)
DiGiulio

However, Seth Stolar and Austin Rapp look like the only reserves of quality. A late admit from overseas would not be surprising if they want a shot at the title.

Understand your spirit, but it will take years for Stanford to recover from the abyss they are in. Whit recruited a team of 7-8-9s so those players have to move up, then on and make space. Not every recruit Stanford is going after is jumping on the Goldstein train, so it's not all roses on the farm. For years they have had bigger problems than just the W/L column, sorry, but they have a long way to go.

cal is losing Johnson and McLachlan, that are huge losses
also the lineup is relatively deep, they could compete for Top20/25 again, but more? thats in doubt...
have they any new recruits? cannot find any? oh they have Griffiths and Nishimura (also they are not listed on their rosters?)

But the real team to watch for is the Card. No joke this time. Tree On!

Yes! The Card will have a very good team this year, and one very solid new player coming in. I hope Nolan is healthy again and that his game gets back to where it was (and better) because he will be a key player this year.

They belong to the top 15 easily. :)

With Paul Goldstein at the helm, they will win the NCAA title

Actually not that bad a prediction given he did not say how many years it will take.

He has not missed predicting their championship for at least the last 10 years. It's just a matter of time before he drops it on us before next May. In the meantime he's hung his fandom on the Cardinals womens team. LOL

UCLA sitting Martin Redlicki and Gage Brymer for singles against UCI. McDonald, Mkrtchian, Sell, Di Giulio, Rapp, and Tachi are the starting 6.

UCLA is going to need to have everyone healthy this year if they're going to have even an outside chance at a National Title. I thought they'd be able to beat Florida even without Karue Sell in the lineup but it didn't happen.

Looking at their schedule the rest of the way I don't see many or possibly not any Top 10 wins out there so they may have a hard time staying in the Top 10 unless they can beat USC or a couple of team at the NTIs.

They just aren't very good this year. For UCLA standards it's a weak team. Martin has good seasons but he also has these bad years just as often. Compared to USC and Virginia who never have down seasons.

Washington got a big win over Tulsa today 4-3

looks like the Tulsa player had to retire up 5-4 in the 3rd on court 2 at 3-3, which ended up being the deciding point for Washington. Not a way you want to lose a match

The Pac 12 is pretty weak this year.

UCLA is down
Cal is the same
Stanford is not showing any signs of being that much better
Washington is a little better but still not likely to be a tournament team
Arizona sucks
Utah sucks
Oregon is borderline NCAA team

In other conferences they have a lot of teams in the 20-35 range. Arizona,Utah,Oregon and Washington should really be top 40 teams instead of where they are now. Is it just a case of bad coaching in these circmstances?

The top four players for USC are seniors. Big recruiting year coming up to maintain their level.

Does USC have good enough players coming in next year to maintain their top status ? It doesnt' look like it. It looks like Stanford has clearly the best crop of players coming in for 2016.

right now only Kalman Boyd is in USCs new class , he is a bluechip, beating Taylor Fritz last year in juniors for example. With him USC would have 9 players on roster, but with Top4 leaving....De Vroome, Crystal, Bellamy and Farren are their Top Players. With Boyd this is still a decent group but no one really should replace their Top4 from one season to another.

What about usc s win over ucla? Seems that ucla has no depth this year?

it was close man ... if UCLA won the dubs point things may have been different... USC doesn't look all that strong now at 1,2,3 ..
and what's up with the double bagel at #6 ? sheez.. this ain't jr. tennis..

Gage lost big time on Saturday. Wonder if he is still in grieving ? or wonder if he is just off from long layoff?

N.Crystal is one to be reckon with and his NCAA rankings will prove that.. I think he's the winningest player on the USC team this year..

seems to be that opponent players just lose the fun out there and quit....

at Womens tennis the 50#th ranked player lost 0-6,0-6 to another in the 50s ranked player...
