Many times i stumble upon the arguments that Federer or Djokovic achieved the highest tennis peak performance in history...

From my point of view both sides have a decent case for a discussion but in my own opinion i think that Novak has a stronger case...

Main reasons for my conlusion are :

1.Highest atp poinst won
2.Highest elo rating
3.Most titles won in a single season
4.Argubly strongest competition on field

Those are the facts that i consider to be the main factor of my position...I wont use eye test argument because for me Djokovic played the strongest tennis and for someone else Federer did...Both are right or wrong depending on perspective.

Edit: criteria is full season, wining fashion (withiut droping a set etc.).

I would like to hear opinions on this topic from other people here.

What parameters are we talking?? Peak year? Peak Slam? Peak match? Peak set?

This is a completely incoherent thread lol

I could say the peak of tennis was Jo Wilfried Tsonga AO ‘08 SF and there’s absolutely nothing anyone could do to actually dispute that. Now if we talk over a full season I still think Mac’s 1984, for the time and technology available, is even better than Fed or Djokovic’s 2006/2015…

Over a full season and also include a difficulty of wining tournaments like without droping a set etc...

The logic lacks a bit of pace. Maybe only 120mph or so. (n)

Just state who do you think that had a highest peak during a single season and state your reasons...

You have to be one of the most one sided posters on this board. Every single one of your posts praises Djokovic and cuts down Federer. Give it a break pal.

If you discard obvious trolling pls quote me on one of my previous posts where i claimed without evidence that Djokovic is superior and Federer inferior..

We can elaborate on that

Peak match or peak season on covers a fraction of the player's entire peak years performance.

A player has multiple years playing at their peak and I think a player should be measure by their performances/results base on their best years.

Federer has set the bench mark between 2004-2007 and no player comes close to his peak performance. Numbers don't lie

Again Novak achieved greater elo rating, greater amount of tournaments won and greater amount of points won,not to mention competition which was far more difficult...

In your case Numbers do lie...My post was about single season since i wanted to measure absolute peak of performance...Dominating across 4 years is something entirely else...

My counter argument would be lets measure a decade of domination...I am quite sure it is in a favor of Novak.

In a single season Djoko 2011 has to be up there, however federer 2006 was too brutal.

The difference for me is that Djoko 2011 was simply kicking Nadal so much that that might give him a plus

Elo rating is misleading/deceiving. It has been debunked many times on this forum.

LOL at the bolded part. Federer's highest level of dominance in 2004-2007 is pure facts, not lie. I've already said 1 peak year is not a good indicator, because players typically has multiple peak years in his career. Evaluate a player's multiple peak years performances/results is more complete thus makes more sense.

Why is elo rating misleading?
Read this thread. A lot of flaws about ELO and no one should take it seriously

Completely out of point reply...I am not interested in mental gymnastics today.
