isnt 2011 the Goat/peak season?

I meant 2-2 with fedal

What is Fedal ? Are they a single player? You are pretending as if Federer+Nadal are a team. If Fed had beaten Novak then there is a possibility that he could have lost to Nadal at the US Open. So Nadal would be on 23 slams today, Federer did himself a favor by choking.

What favor

He would have taken down Nole twice and fedfans can always use match up card vs Nadal. Fed would be in no lose situation in the final.

Instead he is now labelled as choker goat.

Its just very clear 2011 Djokovic is a less advanced inferior player than 2015 djokovic...

Fedfans cannot use any card, the fact that such cards exist automatically erases Federer's case for goathood. Nadal has been dumping on Federer's legacy since mid 2000s, everybody knew that Fed was no GOAT since he was so weak against a rival but we were all hoping Nadal would get injured and retire, people wanted to see how far could Nadal go for the H2H to be taken seriously or not..... and Nadal happened to emerge ahead of Federer.... that literally closed the gates for Federer..... So I would say it is good that Djokovic emerged, otherwise Federer would have clearly looked like an Agassi of his times behind Nadal.... at least now they both are close enough, Nole slowed down Nadal a lot by emerging..... so yes Fed did himself a favor by losing that SF.

Nole slowed Nadal slightly. He slowed Federer by a lot. The same lot of you who hoped for Nadal to be injured knew Federer is fitter. So without Nole, fed would easily be at 26 slams. 3 AO and 3 Wimby.

I am not talking about hypothetical usopens where he beats Nadal out of sudden.

2011 USO Djokovic v Federer and then Djokovic going on to beat Nadal in the final is what makes it the GOAT season. That was the moment that you knew Djokovic is the GOAT.
Pretty much agree here. This is nothing like beating old geyser Fed at W'19. Even though he won the SF by the skin of his teeth in 2011, and with some luck on his side, but at the end of the day, he still won. Then he went on to trounce Nadal in the final.
This is peak Nadal we are talking about, and maybe not peak Fedr, but still near prime. The only other person that has beaten both prime Fedal back-to-back for a slam was Delpo, but I rate Djoko's more impressive due to Nadal playing better in 2011 than in 2009.

UO11 is the 12th time in a row of nonclay slam draw Nole-Fed on same side. Of course clay slam draw Nole-Rafa almost alway same side, even same quarter....THEY really want Fed-Rafa final

The collective slam leadership should've been tried by tribunal and shot.

I saw him play at Indian Wells in both years and the USO in 2015. I felt like Djokovic had higher topspin and more margin on his shots in 2015-16 compared to 2011 so that it seemed like even though he was hitting the ball on the rise robbing opponents of time and changing angles at will, he would not miss. A lot of players collapsed against him mentally because of this unrelenting pressure and lost the deciding set in a one-sided manner during this period. Also in 2011, he could not sustain his level in the faster Fall season after the USO whereas it seemed like he was on a higher plane for 18 months winning everything in 2015-1H2016. For me, he was the BOAT in 2015-1H16 and his results reflected it.

You're right. Djokovic was using more force in 2011, whereas in 2015 he was using more tactics to win, something he learned after 2012 AO final. In 2011, he was injured after UO, and lost 2 out of 3 RR at ATP finals.

Peak Nadal is 2008 and 2011 isn't close... also Djokovics 2015 is best easily. Couple match points away from only winning 2 slams in 2011 which would've been twice eliminated by non peak Federer, clearly 2015 Djokovic is a better player
2011 is peak Nadal, a 25 year old Nadal free of injury and conditioned at 100%. Most finals, more top 10 wins than in 2010, and a great record over fed and Murray. But 2011 belonged to the djoker, no questions about that. Djokovic just had the higher peak, simple as that.

Yes, 2008 nadal level was higher than in 2011 for most of the season, but saying 2011 wasn’t part of his overall peak (or at least prime) is silly imo.

Djokovic 2015 is statistically slightly better than 2011, but his level was higher in 2011 imo.
